Confirmed Genuine Offer - Convert nectar points to eBay vouchers and get 50% of points refunded

Valid for another 12 hours only! The offer is genuine and only available to those who received the email as confirmed by Nectar themselves.

i1378.photobucket.com/alb…jpg

Received an email from Nectar saying if you convert nectar points to eBay vouchers (500 points equals £2.50) then they will credit 50% of the nectar points back. This would value nectar points at .75p rather than 0.5p which you would get in the supermarket.

Until 12 October. See Ts & Cs. 50% of points converted will be credited to account holder's account by 9 November.

You can create vouchers in 500 point increments, up to 40,000 points (£200) per voucher.
Your vouchers are created and stored in My eBay and are available for you to select during checkout when using PayPal as a payment method.
You can use multiple vouchers at checkout, as long as you spend at least £10 including postage.
You can use your vouchers to make a purchase across all of eBay.co.uk.
Vouchers expire after 12 months.
Nectar points cannot be refunded once converted into a voucher.
If you return items purchased using your Nectar voucher, we can only issue you a new voucher if you've returned all items from the transaction. If you only return one item from a multi-item transaction, we won't be able to issue you a new voucher.

do you know how part payments are handled?
say buy an item over £10, so say £17.25 and have an ebay voucher for £20.
are the vouchers in minimum units , £10 or £1 meaning you wouldn't maintain a balance of £2.75 and could possibly lose all or 75p?
just asking as have found a number of these reward bonuses potentially working out worse as you lose if you don't spend all at once (restaurant vouchers particularly)

Good question. I've never used nectar points in this way but would presume the credit would remain as its not promotional offer but actual money equivalent.

Plus, you can get vouchers in £5 denominations so that shouldn't be an issue I'd think.

Can't see anything in my emails or online account, but heat anyway

I don't have any emails either and I don't see anything about it on their website. Can anyone else confirm?

First decent nectar points offer in a long time. I hoe it's legit, but seem anything in my email yet

Yes i received email about this, but i dont think will use this.

Nothing in my inbox or in MYEBAY but heat anyway.

Got the same email. Seems useful.

Is this only for people who receive the email or is it meant to be a public offer?

small print - '50% of points converted will be credited to account holder's account by 9 November.'

Looks like only the select few get the email - can't see anything on the website!

title is a bit misleading , its you get 50% back by 9th November, rather then 50% extra immediately
Edited by: "kingnpuk" 10th Oct 2014

might hold off to see if this is for everyone or just those who get the email

Seems to be invite only again. I haven't had the e-mail and it says it will convert my points to the usual amount of vouchers.

I never noticed you have to spent a minimum or £10 to use your vouchers before Wondering if that has always been so.

Amended...

if you are getting 50% points back, it basically means you are doubling the value of nectar points.

Nothing in nectar account on on eBay, pity, would be a good use of useless nectar points ..

Not by my calculations (unless you are factoring being able to do the same again....).

Well if you convert £25 worth of nectar points you will get £12.50 back. This means you have Converted £12.50 nectar points into a £25 voucher. So he's not wrong technically.

Not on my account. Sainsbury's must really hate me.

Ta OP.

Same here

I got the email - was from eBay rather than nectar - but if you go on eBay itself & hover over the 'My eBay' button at the top there's a nectar button (says collect & spend) & if you click that it takes you to details of the offer - so maybe try that?

even then you'd only get half of the half back!

What a load of faffing about!!!

I don't understand why the Nectar card can't be tied to your eBay account and the points automatically deducted when making a payment using PayPal

I did that, it went to the Nectar page etc, but there was no mention of the offer so must be invited customers only.

500 points converted into £2.50 and you get 250 points for doing so. In essence you have converted 250 points into £2.50.

But, that's only worth 1.25. Different ways of looking at it I guess!

A lot of offers are customer specific. I have an offer, that came by post, to get double the value of my points on Home & Decorating products at Homebase.

It's not there on mine either but I got the email. Not sure that's how it works. Might be worth checking with eBay.

Thanks OP
