Windows Connect is a small tablet with big aspirations.

The tablet uses an 8-inch IPS LCD display with a 1280x800 pixel resolution for high quality visuals. With multitasking capabilities like no other, you can snap up to four apps on the screen, create new desktops for more space, and with Continuum, move easily from a tablet to laptop with a screen that optimises itself. The tablet even comes with your own digital assistant who works across all your Windows 10 devices to help you get things done.

Enjoy an enhanced web experience with the all-new browser; this includes distraction-free articles and the ability to write on web pages for sharing with friends. The Windows Connect tablet also comes with mobile-first Office apps including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, all of which you can use to create and edit your documents on the go.

Enjoy a great set of built-in applications for photos, video, music, games and more using the Windows Store.

Bought the 9" version in the black Friday deals. Awful tablet. I had the blue screen of death and device driver fails several times and that was just setting up and testing a few apps. Took it back in the end.

Fantastic tablet. Bought 2 last year (aka linx 8 ) and never had a problem with them. recently updated to windows 10 and works and multi tasks flawlessly. I also don't think they did a 9 inch version.

Linx don't make a 9 inch version, the 'Connect 9' that was posted will have been a different rebrand, it also only came with 16GB eMMC storage, because the Linx brand and Linx 8 is a well sold device, having 32GB eMMC storage and likely the better driver support, I would say this is a much better buy than the 'Connect 9' that was sold, even though the 9 inch screen is IMO the better/best screen size for a tablet.

a reasonable price for these.

I brought this twice first time touch went and their was dust under the glass on screen the second one the touch went after 4 days not happy
I bought a refurb version from Tesco on Ebay(for a whooping 30 quid!) and it's a fantastic little tablet. Upgraded to Windows 10, and as long as you keep using the Edge browser it's plenty fast. 1GB of Ram is not enough for Chrome, but I got used to Edge now. I can have it open + spotify without a problem. I've also used it for some emulators of old systems(N64/SNES/PS1) with a bluetooth controller and it works great.

So bad tablet because you got a duff one, dear lord you realise they don't all do that. Just get it replaced instead of moaning about it
May be a good alternative to the Connect 9 that they failed to deliver
I am returning my Connect 9, charged it the first day I got it. Went to switch it on the next day, no life. Gave Tesco a call only to be told that they cannot be charged for more than 3-4hrs otherwise it will kill the machine. Completely ridiculous.
What's the difference between this and the 8" Linx 810?

Probably, depends on the screen, 2gb is always going to be a bonus though.
When 2gb of ram units only have 8-900mb free after boot, what does that tell you about the 1gb of ram units running the same software.

Nothing, because Windows uses more Ram the more Ram is has. It's an optimization thing. Ideally, it should use 100% of available Ram and just release some when other apps need it. Unused ram is a wasted ram. If you have 16GB it uses 3.5GB just running in idle. I've got a machine at work with 64GB of ram and when it starts nearly 6GB are already gone.

Where did you bring it from ?
No idea why you'd pay more for less.. Especially if you've gone to the trouble of looking at this site to find a deal in the first place...

I think whoever spoke to you probably doesn't understand things quite right. I don't think devices have been overchargable in the last 15 years unless they're cheap asian products that don't pass minimum EU requirements for safety

It wasn't duff - just windows.

It tells us you don't know how computers work
These were £40 in the recent Sainsburys deal. (They had 8.1 but win 10 upgrade is simple)
X) theres me been following buying the Linx 8 from sainsburys......when my sons Connect 9 is really a Linx ?
I take it that (other than the OP's 9" Deal that is ... ) the Connect Tablets are re-Branded Linx Tablets then?, or ..... thanx. :-)
