These are brilliant, cheaper in-store as well

yes the one that redheap posted
Great mugs... completely leakproof - I chuck mine full into my handbag!!
These are the best travel mugs , and I've tried loads ! Only thing is my hubby steals them
These are really good but keep them clean, dry and always store with lid off when not in use otherwise you'll end up with useless manky smelling spill proof travel mugs.
Bought 2 for a cruise 6 years ago. Been battered. Still faultless. Just keep them clean and they should last a liferime. Much better comparing to other brands like Thermos... Go for it and enjoy this winter

Totally agree. Had ours for a year and it's withstood a lot of abuse the poor thing. But still very loyal. No spills or leaks
Use mine on holiday - especially useful if there's a swim up bar - no worry about spilling so can drink and swim!

I have 2x Contigo coffee mugs (Older design with different lid opening style) and the rubber O ring seals on them always pop loose after a couple of weeks causing them to leak. You can replace the O ring and reseal but its usually very fiddly to do and shouldnt occur when not putting it in a dishwasher, its a shame as they a great for keeping drinks warm for hours and anti spill ability.

These are brilliant I've had one for 2 years now and it still doesn't leak. Just got myself another one from asda for £9 yesterday
Fantastic mugs - best non-spill, non-leak mugs I've ever used. Great price too!

TheO ring will stretch and get misshaped of u put it in the dishwasher but also if you over tighten the lid it could put yo much pressure on the seal, and again damage the o ring. Easily done cos you obviously want the lid to be tight so it doesnt leak or come loose but it doeant need to be tightned uo really hard
These are brilliant. My daughter and husband both have one. Had them for a few years and still don’t leak. Keeps drinks hot for ages. Great price. I think I paid at least £15 for one

I dont put them in a dishwasher or over tighten, if i tightened any less it would leak. The cause of the fault is temperature, it causes the rubber O ring to change in size and pop out of alignment when you remove the lid. The drink inside warms the rubber up, then it cools when its sitting on the side and pops out. Had this happen like 3-4 times on each of the Contigo's i have.
Great thanks for posting - just ordered mine ....

I guess I should have explicitly added the smileys

Out of curiosity: are you born after the 1980's.
See image for possible consequences of O-ring changing in size due to temperature:

For explanation: your reference to o-ring expansion immediately brought that event to my mind.

Yes 80’s (1980). Apologies if I took your comment out of context I thought you were trolling and didn’t immediately get the space shuttle references. Apologies
QVC sell a different make 2 for £15....they’re brilliant. I’ve seem same ones at £20 + each on Amazon

This is exactly what I’ve found. Whilst the rubber seal is in place it is completely leakproof, however if it comes out or moves it leaks just like the rest

Glad this happens to someone else too (Well not glad its faulty), was beginning to feel like i was a one off based on responses from other people on here. I suspect this is why they have revised the design on newer models. I sing this brands praises for the styling and product when it works its excellent, but they need to resolve the O ring flaw.
Got the pack of 2 at Birmingham Costco for £19.19 👌

Same - thanks for the heads up OP
I used to love these mugs, but sooner rather than later the lid anyways broke. They don't sell the lids on their own, which just seems wasteful.

Slightly different model for £17.99 on Amazon. Anyone know how these Contigo Byron ones compare to the OP's Contigo Autoseal ones?

amazon.co.uk/dp/…_it
I also have one of the ones that are £12 in Tesco, and have bought 5 as gifts for people over the years. Never had a problem with 0-rings or leaking, at all. They're brilliant - I take coffee to the cinema or a dog walk on the beach and its still almost too hot to drink on the drive home afterwards.
We've got 2 of these, had them for years with no problems, though they don't get battered. Great for camping.
My only "criticism" is that they're too good! Stuff is way too hot to drink even after an hour. We've worked it out now but that was after several singed tongues.

Great price,heat added
Don't forget to add £15 to this for non-members of costco.
I haven't tried this model so can't directly comment on the deal, but anyone looking for something like this should also consider the Csmelbak Forge (the all metal one, not the 'devide'). Very similar design brief, but tapered towards the bottom so it fits into car cup holders, and with a toughened plastic base plate to avoid drop dents. They've just been discontinued so grab one quick.

You really shouldn't use that image in relation to a joke. Seven people lost their lives in that accident.
