Hi @greenyblades can you please add which Asda store you spotted this in to your opening post description as it's an instore only offer

Was lucky enough to pick one of these up from Tesco for £5.00 a couple of months back. It is a very good much and keeps drinks hot for a number of hours.

These are very good at keeping drinks hot - really good! However mine started to leak as the seal inside the rim of the lid came away after only a few months of use which meant it was largely useless

12 months warranty. Girl in my work took hers back with same issue and got a brand new replacement.
High praise for this !
Great mug. Use it everyday.

Hand on heart, I just came up with it. Baseless accusations :P
I had a look at this instore. it's sealing arrangements are not nearly as good as the model advertised elsewhere on Amazon, I'm not surprised it leaks

My wife has had one for nearly a year now and it hasn't leaked once. If it does, which is likely to be few and far between then you have every right to take back to store for a free replacement

Maybe I'm eccentric but I expect such things to last more than a year anyway. And I'm comparing it to the more expensive Amazon one which has a much more secure losing mechanism ISTM

My wife also had that one. Guess what, the side button broke after several months. She prefers this cup. Much better quality.

Well she needn't have worried: she could have taken it 'back to the store for a free replacement'

And that she did but got this cup instead

I bought a couple for £6 each from Tesco in March. hotukdeals.com/dea…347

They keep hot drinks hot for several hours, and they are still warm after 6-8 hours. I like being able to put one in my backpack without it leaking.

I used one most days for a couple of months. Then the rubber O ring would leak for the seal between the lid and the cup thread. The O ring seemed to get stretched, so it was too long to fit back in place. To check that the seal is in place, tip the cup upside down over a sink before you carry it around. Then the seal in the lid fell off and got lost. Its the one that looks like an earphone bud. I could still use the cup in my car, but I couldn't carry it in a bag anymore.

In the end I bought a replacement lid from a US eBay seller. It ended up costing ~ £8 including postage. It was a pain, but it means the cup works properly again.

Had the same issue with the seal on the three of these I have. Totally unusable now after only a few months

We had the same result. I had a contigo westloop for years and it was great but then it was left at the train station (not me!). Bought two of these as a replacement and they both leak terribly. The seal comes out. A better one is Tesco’s own brand leak proof mug which they recently had on offer at £2.50 (I bought 4). It’s amazing and I can leave it in my bag lying down for a two hour commute.
I don't understand why people think these cups can be left on their side or upside down! Seal is to keep drink hot or cold longer and to prevent it from leaking when tipping cup to take a drink!
