I bought a pair the last time they were this price.

Usually only the wire bead or normal gator skin tyres are this low in price

Great commuter tyre for me in my trek 1500. Good balance of speed and durability. Stands up well to London streets. Just make sure you don't pinch the inner tube when you install

Also quidco offer 3 percent cash back

Unbelievably slow tyres. Not great for speed.

Poor grip. They are so hard that they just don't grip the roads. And in the wet...

However, they are incredibly puncture proof and if that's what you're looking for then go for them.
Just be aware of the cons.

What's the difference between these and gatorskins

Probably best with 25's too - 23's are a hard ride and on normal British roads a little slower due to the bumps and holes ...

Okay they do have a bit more rolling resistance than a lighter thinner tyre, but besides slower acceleration I trust taking a faster speed with these due to their puncture resistance.

They're not racing tyres in case anyone was buying them for that. They're great every day tyres especially for commuting in the city

Regarding grip - I've actually never had an issue in wet, dry, tarmac, or gravel. Never tried snow though... I'd imagine that the harder wearing rubber is meant for higher temps than freezing, which will decrease elasticity and grip

Anyway, it's crazy we're even micro analysing this. They're tyres. Buy these or buy others.

As I said haha!

These have a tougher sidewall. Therefore better at resisting punctures from sidewall punctures (which I have never experienced...). However many seem to say that the weakpoint of the gatorskin is the sidewall so...

You know you should have never said that

I will never ride gatorskins ever again. They turn into ice skates at the first sign of a rainy/greasy surface. If you want a quickish but long lasting general purpose racing tyre buy Durano

The Continental Grand Prix tyres have poly X puncture protection and the ride and grip is so much better,
i can't see any advantages of the Gatorskin, tried them and got glass punctures same as any other tyre.

Try the gator hardshell
miles ahead of gatorskin
which is already miles ahead of most tyres

This! Just threw a set in the bin! Shocking grip in the wet, abysmal!

Moved to GP4 Seasons, they're in another class.
