Continental Ultra Gator Skin Bike Tyre

The Continental Ultra Gator 700c Bike Tyre performs well in fast bike sports and road riding. The sidewalls are constructed with a mesh layer to protect the tyre casting against cuts, punctures and abrasions. The slick tread excels in both wet and dry conditions with exceptional grip.

Great value! Reserved and heat added

The best tyres for road bike commuting. These generally last me up to a year, commuting 100miles a week, plus weekend rides. Only couple of times I've had punctures have been hitting potholes or when the tyres have got really thin at the end of their days.

Bargain at this price.

Extra 10% off for British Cycling members

How do these compare grip wise in wet with the schwalbe marathons?

Have these on my Ridley. Fantastic grip in both wet & dry conditions. One puncture so far, sidewall due to a pothole!

Great price!

It says £21 per tyre!

New to cycling. Have 700c 32 already-can I go to 700c 35 on same wheels? Would this give me some extra grip?

Bummer, just bought one of these but would have gone for two!
Best tyres I've ridden.

Nice tyres. Bought last year at this price still going strong 1000miles later. Have the heat.

Yes should be fine.
BTW
it will make your grip profile wider, although obviously that also means going slower

It depends on the fork/seatstays clearance.

what does the 23c indicate? I have 28 inch wheels.

"width/height" of the tyre.. 23c is normally the thinnest! I do personally commute on 23c's but 25c is the recommended size!

It's just the width of the tyre. 23mm

Thanks to both - I don't know why I asked that question!
I really want to upgrade my tyres but I don't think 23c will be a good idea for the London roads I'll be commuting on... will decide in the morning.

Not strictly true:

Great tyres, unless you are a weight weeny this is the rubber to get.

Are these the ones with a really tight wire bead that are a pain in the butt to get on and off?

I found these to have a very high sidewall and felt tall and a bit strange when going round corners then back to straight, just a personal thing though and nothing against the tyre.

Total to pay (2 items) is £41.98 at the moment

You have to buy the bundle deal (bottom righthand corner), not 2 separate tyres, to get this price.

op your a star.just in time for the liverpool to chester race next weekend

BARGAIN!!! Thanks OP. Been after some of these or pro 4s for a while. No brainer at this price!!!

Great tyres and great offer. Personally, I use the Rubino 25Cs and have done for a few years now. Cheap as chips, comfortabel, roll well and last a long time (I do over 2000 miles and they still have grip :))

Anyway, heat definitely added for this deal!

Thanks OP, just in time.

thanks, ordered.

How do these compare to Schwalbe Durano Plus please ?

Got free fitting as a bonus

Use levers rather than the tight claps of taught buttocks.

Been commuting for 6 years on 23c tyres, I cycle from East to central London every day and since I've been using Gatorskins I've never had any problems. My brother rides 25c which ride a little softer and comfier.
