That's a halogen oven, and it looks identical to the JML one (which is about £60) plus it has all the accessories.

Shame the nearest Aldi is miles way, my mum wanted one. :-(

I Love Aldi

:-d

Very nice price, Mum has one swears by it and technically I think more efficient as it's essentially just a big bulb in a vented glass box a fraction of the energy used by normal ovens?

We had one of those when we had no kitchen and they are great. No substitute for a good oven tho.

Looks good and a cheap price.Tempted.
Also doing a 3 tier steamer for £13.99 (steamers are great)
Heat added

Anyone else have any experiances of these? im interested in getting one?

how much do replacement bulbs run?

coopersofstortford.co.uk/coo…9i/
They do one for £39.99 bought one from them just before xmas, marvellous thing.
Cheaper than the JML one but exactly the same, and the Aldi one looks the same as well.
So a bargain at £29.99 from Aldi

I bought one of these just before christmas and found a thing reviewing them all, the JML one was rated very poorly, the coopers one was good and the prolectrix one was rated one of the best at cooking but worst looking (as the plastic bit is black not white)

Its a shame their site doesn't say what make it is

The robbing so*s that steamer is on offer exactly the same in Spain from Monday at 29.99 euros about £27.66 that is twice as much, VAT is about the same, shop rates are cheaper here.
Seems to me they are working on the principal how much can we get for it, not adding a standard profit margin. :?

You can cook a roast dinner in one of these. I have used one for over a year as was without a proper oven. You can cook anything in it, apart from pizza as they get a soggy bottom, definately worth the money

heat added
gonna get myself one tomorrow i think, my mum uses one of these and they're excellent, cooks things like fish fingers in half the time!

We have a JML one, use it nearly every day. This is a brilliant price for one.

What are they like to clean?
I know what the oven is like, is this any easier?

These ovens self clean:whistling:

Reading reviews for halogen ovens, most people like them, on the downside life expectancy seems to be short. So the 3 year warranty with this oven combined with the price make this a good deal.

Not in stores until Sunday.

Excellant find..anyone know if this is nationwide or selected stores only...who has managed to locate one so far were they live i.e if there store is getting any in?

Can anyone comment on how easy these are to use for someone with limited dexterity and a degree of cognitive impairment? Thinking this might be ideal for my elderly father in law - looks like it has dials, which he finds easier to use than buttons, but if it's complicated to use then he'll struggle.

This is an excellent price, ive just paid 39.99 and these oven are brilliant use it all the time

My wife buys all these 'labour saving', 'efficient', 'handy', 'latest', 'Hi Tech', 'must have' gadgets for the kitchen. We can't get into the kitchen now so we get takeaways most days!

It's Aldi so if you must have one this is likely to be decent quality and good value. Hot if you like that sort of thing.

The glass is going to be hot and the lid will need to rest on a stand after removal. Could be a hazard for someone with cognitive impairment or young children.

Hot hot hot!

I've been looking at getting one to use when we go camping. I've been looking at the one in Lakeland (remoska cooker) which is well over £100 for the larger one.
The only downside to the hologen one, is that the watts may be too high for camping, but it's a great deal as they get really good reviews.

I agree with Fizzbin, I think it's probably the JML one but it's been unbranded. Found a good article on the various different halgoen ovens, although the JML one didn't score very well. ]Go to the article. Everything you need to know but were afraid to ask! Would've bought this myself, but the review isn't so good....

I think it would be quite difficult for someone with cognitive problems combined with poor dexterity to lift the wire racks in and out of the oven - mine comes with a rack lifter thing which may be a little difficullt. As previous poster mentioned the glass obviously gets very hot and it would be easy to get destracted and forget how hot it is. I would say a very simple microwave would be easier to operate than one of these.

I have the JML one, have had for years (thanks to my mum having one for years too) and it is sooooo handy.
Especially when doing a lot of food ( party etc) or over xmas when lots to keep warm.

Does great pizza's and quick things like sausage rolls / coctail sausages etc.
Have done chicken & ham in there too and worked well.

Current fav is rice pudding, the convection currents make intresting patterns on the skin thats formed

I'v lent mine out several times to people whos ovens have went phut too

Dunno what the quality would be like on this one tho.

i have used mine for over 2 years now, no faults what so ever, cooks lovely and very quick.,
and i paided double for mine at the time .
easy to use, just turn the dial to the temp and time setting, push the handle down and let it do the rest of the hard work :-)
also easy to clean as well, which i like :-) a little bit of washing up liquid & warm water & the job was done

JML halogen oven now 29.99 plus vat at makro

Has anyone replaced a bulb in one of these? How much was it? Was it hard to do?

Thanks.

I don't belive this, I spent £59.99 on a JML one plus postage& packaging, the one in Aldi looks IDENTICAL and is a 10 minute drive from my house... Can anyone confirm if the quality of the Aldi halogen oven is the same, better or worse than the one from JML.

Thanks.

Well JML isn't going to be top quality is it?

The thing is if the bulb goes can you replace it ????

It does look identical to the JML oven
Replacement bulbs are available for that oven according to post #301 on ]this forum

OK thanks.

My parents went to pick one of these up this morning (from Brierly Hill), apparently there was a queue for them so they sold out within minutes of the doors opening. The staff kindly rang round the other local stores but they had sold out too.

Wen to the store in manchester...again Q's to the road...when it was my turn to grab one they'd already sold out....shame

Aldi Spain is not owned by the same company as Aldi UK, they are closely tied, but different.

People were queueing outside???? wtf??? it's only 10 quid cheaper than amazon for the exact same one, the world has gone mad!
