I don't know if this is a deal as such, but I've just been on this site and an offer popped up for £3 for my first trial box.

This is a subscription service which you can cancel or pause as soon as you've received your first box.

HOW IT WORKS
1. We create exciting, easy-to-follow recipes
2. We send you a SimplyCook box
3. You follow our recipes, adding 4-6 items of fresh food
4. You enjoy a delicious meal for 2-4 people

The kits seem really good and I'm definitely interested to try.

Beats paying the likes of gousto £35 a pop

It beats me why people don't learn how to cook. Rather than a lifetime of ready meals, food boxes and take aways why not take some cookery classes at your local adult education centre?

Or eat more fish, that's a possibility.
How to get ripped off big time. Nobody ever lost money by overestimating the gullibility of the public.
really not worth £3. all you get per recipe is three tiny pots (which are only stocks, bases or seeds and spices) and a recipe card

I think you are misleading people, you get a 4 pack, with three pots per pack, so 4 meals for 2-4 people for £3 is really good in my eyes.
it isn't 4 meals - it is 4 sets of 3 pots. you have to supply the ingredients

i think the trials which include ingredients (e.g. gusto) are better for new cooks

£40 for three/four meals from gousto that go out of date within a week, or these that you can keep for a few months and add a few ingredients, I know which one I'd rather have.

£35 for 4 meals for two, minus 30% discount on first three boxes.

its not the same as gousto, which I feel if I did go this route I would prefer, ten quid for some spices in very small pots is not a bargain, its about its money. God knows what the price is moving forward.

No doubt it should appeal to few who have never used google to find recipes or the shed of apps available.

I think gousto do good things, but I just feel there is more value in the simply cook pots, however we aren't gonna agree, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I get these, they are delicious.
Cold from me. Can’t see the appeal or any value in this

I like the sound of this. Delicious and time saving.
I've been using these for awhile. Well recommended.
Had mine delivered today! Cant wait to start, I think its worth the service and the convenience of it - I just have to pick up the basic ingredients, which I'm sure I have anyway.

Cool!
I have been using these for a couple of months and am very pleased with them. I consider myself more than an average cook and am capable of Googling recipes. But that's not what it is about. What has put me off experimenting with more exotic dishes in the past is the requirement to 'add 1/3 tsp of sulphated Balinese crushed cuckoo egg shells'. When you can only buy it by the kilo and it has a shelf life of one week. Simply Cook provide all the herbs, spices and pastes you need already blended for you. You would be buying the main ingredients anyway (unless you live of takeaway/frozen food). It allows you to produce wonderful restaurant quality dishes such as Peruvian chicken or Iranian vegetable stew for just a pound or two more than your run of the mill chicken or vegetable dish.
If anyone wants to try a box for just £1, PM me and i can give you a code.

Have you ever used
Gousto before? I found them to be very good. You get everything you need. Out of 28 recipe cards I’ve had. About 24 are ones I’ll use again and already have done many times.

I haven't so it wouldn't be fair for me to make a comparison. However, are you not overpaying for the basic, easily sourced, ingredients? Also, with fresh food, i prefer to inspect it before i buy. That's why i go to the local markets rather than do online food shopping.

Some may have but I got 60% off my first two boxes. Then I got my in laws to set up and account and using my referral code I ordered two more boxes at 50% off. That gave me a £15 referral which I used against another box. I then got £5 off for a broken vegetable they sent and ordered another. And the 5th box on my account was free. As is everyone’s. I’ve paused my account for now.
