I know, not sure what's going on, but cheapest I've seen on base, so I jumped at it.
Just bear in mind this

The game seems to not have a set release date and has been pulled from eShops already. This may actually be a rare release if you happen to pick one up.
There's a reddit thread happening currently, it was mentioned that the software contains a blockchain miner.

Or it could be issues IP licensing

If anyone wants this, snap it up, it could be worth something in the distant future
So it's not by the original cooking mama team, the HQ of the developer (iirc) is just a house in some rural town and there's a lot of talk on Reddit that the game contains Blockchain integration and mysteriously drains your battery super quick when you have an internet connection as opposed to playing in flight mode, leading some to believe it may be cryptomining in whatever limited capacity it can (the switch would hardly be considered useful for mining).

That said, I'm still considering buying a physical copy because it's a very unusual situation and it might end up being an odd collectable.

Can't imagine I'd play this much in handheld. Don't really play my switch in handheld much tbh! That saying Base may just refund everyone if Nintendo pulls it totally from being sold.
Chancing this one as others have said could become rare. I expect base will cancel orders mind.

Let's hope the deal is honoured
Played a dodgy copy of this and noticed my switch battery drain, but will be picking up a physical copy, its bound to become rare and pulled off shelves

This was reported ages ago as being in the game.

Not sure why the big hoo hah. I get the idea that information could be used, but what are they gonna get. My gaming habits? Blockchain is used by lots of new security systems as a way of protecting data even if it's stolen it could take years and years to actually encrypt.

At the end of the day, your bank, Nintendo online etc use less stringent methods to keep your data safe... We might as well sit with tin foil hats on.

Why would you be okay with your console being used to mine crypto currency for someone else?

Because most of the time my data is sold to someone else and that's pretty valuable too. Why don't I get a piece of that money when a company sells my data to someone?

I just don't care really.

Well the rest of us that do will find this quite alarming.

It’s over heating some peoples switches apparently because it’s overusing cpu cycles (what i have read, so it could potentially damage your switch) again what I read, so don’t shoot the messenger!
so thats why my niece is not getting the game as it’s her brothers console & my sister can’t afford to replace the console, especially not right now, if something happened, even if it’s a load of b.s not taking a chance.

and is it true it’s not even made by the proper team behind the game? Shady if true, I don’t know hat to believe.

Thing is it's not shady because this was reported as being in the game for a long time. If you look at reports from other websites it goes as far back as Summer '19.

I agree if it damages the switch it wouldn't be great. I'm sure Nintendo would cover a repair otherwise. I suspect they'll disclaim that any game played can void a warranty if it is released. I feel like the deal on Base won't come to fruition, but if it does, collectable in my hands!
Did anyone else just get the email from base? Order hasn't been cancelled but unsure if they will receice stock/will go ahead due tonit being pulled from the eshop!

Ditto!
Came today, this whole drama will blow over now, knowing my luck. I reckon the PS4 version is going to be the collectible one.

Still the best price. I haven't had post for a week. So god knows when I'll get anything.

Maybe, but it depends how many copies have been released out in the wild and whether they will mass produce anymore due to everything that went on! It seems they are still selling and dispatching copies even though they were told to pull them. Unless the situation has changed recently!

Edit: yes the ps4 version might be the holy grail for collectors as it wasnt authorised to be created let alone published for sale!
