Is this some sort of electrically heated saucepan?

Not sure why I would want 1, let alone 2

We bought one of these a few months ago. It's a big pan, heats up very quickly and does a decent job with most dishes but I'd be wary of buying two!
Note: made in China - which can be good or bad!
Inside no time, despite using only plastic utensils on the non-stick surface, a distinct ring of the protection 'Teflon' round the centre came away on ours.
Also, the handle on the fairly heavy lid is flimsy and gets very warm...not a feature to brag about as you lift and let it drop from your burned fingers!
We replaced it with one from a different pan!
Despite the above, the basic unit still works fine.
Be warned, though: Ideal World's customer service if anything goes wrong is utterly incompetent and appalling!
That's assuming of course you can understand them! Be on your guard...
Frankly, Ideal World presenters are just excruciatingly painful to listen to and watch - and boy do they over-exaggerate and mislead consciously or otherwise! QVC's are not much better either!
So, unless you've seen the product elsewhere in a shop or a friend/neighbour has one, then, as I wary of purchasing from Ideal World!
Note too: although they'll refund within 30 days, your consumer rights are not compromised.
If an item fails after reasonable use within a reasonable time long after 30 days are up, then you're still due a refund or replacement: YOUR choice, not theirs! Up to five years from date of purchase, in fact!
Also, the consumer law on Distance Selling means they must refund postage you originally paid....although they should but don't legally have to refund the postage you'll pay to send their inferior article back!
They'll try to weasel out of that one...but your most vehement English!
Don't be fobbed off!
If necessary, insist on speaking to someone in seniority who can speak clear English!
Then make sure you let this site and others know about this less than 'ideal' shopping channel!
If you have seen them on the telly, they were originally marketed in Span as an electric Paella pan.

If you make a lot of paella, then perhaps it is ideal(!), although my personal opinion of it is, it is a complete waste of space, & a pain to wash - like anything with a non-removable heating plate, but all that is irrelevant with Ideal World's track record, (Try Google! eg.….tv) I wouldn't buy it to launder drugs money :-(

be wary of purchasing from Ideal World!

Sounds sensible!
