I was after a new rice cooker as my 3 years old Morphy Richards broke the other day. Found this on Argos a £19.99 one is reduced to £9.99 which i think is an absolute bargain when bought with their replacement product cover for just £1.49 extra.
In total for £11.48 you get a electric rice cooker with a 3 year product replacement guarantee. If you're not a heavy user, then you dont need to buy the replacement cover and a still 1 year waranty will be available the price quoted on the link.
Hope helps someone.

"Whether you are cooking a handful or a potful of rice, this is a simple way to ensure perfect results every time. Even a 71 year old like me can do it!

AND I have discovered that it's pretty good at cooking pasta, soups and keeping pre-cooked dishes warm. Experiment - you will be amazed.

Easy to clean & store and so, so cheap.

A real boon in the kitchen"

I'm tempted...

You can not reserve the cover over internet....you can only reserve the item.
However, when you turn up to pay and collect the item, you can request to add the cover for an extra 1.49...

I can't verify the claims of cooking pasta etc., but being as asian and my staple food have been rice, I had been using them for a week now after my £40 Morphy Richards gave up....I find thisto be very easy to use and have no problems with it. The cover at £1.49 is an advantage for me as I use this rice cooker everyday.

It isn't that big

Do I need one?

Do I need one too ????

Great for experimenting with Sous Vide - in fact that's what mine is doing at the moment with a ribeye steak.

great, just reserved one. thanks.

We bought one of these without really thinking (based on all the praise on here last time) and it's utterly useless. What exactly does it offer as an advantage over doing rice in a pan? There's no less washing up, and there's much more fuss.

Ask yourself why millions of asian families use electric rice cookers.Answer convenience you dont have to watch over it cooking, no more burnt rice and will keep it warm.

I bought one the last time they were on sale thinking it could end up permanently in the cupboard but have found it regularly used, wash the rise and cook in the same pot, no time to clean after use, voted hot.

Great price, bought one a few years ago, but had to get rid of it as the coating was coming off the inner thing that you put the rice in, lasted about 1 and a half years before this happened tho, and we always use plastic spoons for the rice. Might get one. heat!
