Look just want I need ;-)

This machine any good?

Very good machine. I've had one for a couple of years, its been very reliable and produces great tasting coffee with an exceptional crema. Will take pods or grounds with the two different filter bowls.
I highly recommend it.

Not worth £69.99, but half price is good enough

what?

Makes Espresso, Cappuccino & Latte. Extract from Which? review... 'Our expert taster highly rated the espresso's super dark gold crema, & the lovely sweet dark aroma & taste'. Score 79% 'Best Buy'. Note that Which? excludes price from assessment criteria, so the score reflects performance not price.

This machine has two filter baskets, one for loose ground coffee & one for Pods, e.g. Melangerie brand Pods. £1.69 for 18. Gold Winner, The Grocer Own Label Food & Drink Awards 2011. Available at Lidl & possibly elsewhere. That's 9p a cup. Can also use Senseo Pods.

I have this machine & a Tassimo machine. This espresso machine is as easy & convenient to use as the Tassimo. The Tassimo is now redundant, as the pods are 3 times the price of the Melangerie pods I use in this espresso machine.

Tassimo makes good-tasting coffee. But the aroma, crema & flavour of coffee from this espresso machine is superior. At a third of the price per pod, it's a no-brainer.

I bought this machine in December 2010. I've used it more than 1,000 times, & it's still in as new condition. Hot.

thanks for feedback people would consider to buy it after this comment

Great deal thanks

2 cup capacity is that 500ml?

also if you are worried about the longevity of the machine from memory you can up the warrenty to 3 years for about a tenner

I bought one a couple of years ago and it just stopped pumping water at high pressure. But I took the 3 year cover (I think it was £7 or £8) so got a replacement. New one installed and great coffee once again!

Cheers,

Calum

It can make 2 cups but can hold 1 liter

thank you

Mine is about 1 1/2 years old and still going strong, it has probably made around 500 cups. The machine is very easy to use and makes a great espresso and latte.

tasty

Good for the price. Had mine about ten months then it stopped pumping water. Returned for replacement.
Worth getting the extended warranty as it is still dirt cheap for an espresso machine

Heat for spelling 'Espresso' correctly.

bought this and had to return it the same day. the bar wouldn't lock properly so it leaked when using it.. bought a krup coffee machine after and it works great..only uses pods but damn they taste good.

Just reserved one, thanks..

Ordered one thanks

Got one a couple of weeks ago. Lasted longer that the lidl one (2 days), good machine and takes standard size cups.

Just bought one , looking forward collection day !!! will it take any standard pods?

Bought one the last time they were on offer. Use the Lidl pods and for the price you can't go wrong.

Does this machine accept normal size cups/mugs?

Yes, but you have to remove the metal tray so the mug sits in the drip tray.

stock available in Birmingham, going to buy one tomorrow. Thanks!

Heat Added!!

Bought two of these last week at £39.99 each... not sure when the RRP was used, but presumably not for a while.

Biker Jeff: thanks!

Got one of these when it was full price! Great machine though.

This as never been £69.99 I bought one about 12 months ago and I bought it on offer for about £25 down from £35 if you are buying this to use with pods personally I wouldn't bother excellent espresso/Cappuccino maker but it was very weak when I tried it with pods, Sorry op cold from me Argos are really ripping people off claiming this is on sale.

Edit: all the above is based on the machine being the one pictured.

Only the naive take any notice of 'was' prices these days....... most of us know they are BS.

Yes very well too but you need to get a technique going after a few youtube videos you will get it right.

Hubby has had one for 3 years and it is still going strong. Good cup of espresso he says.

This is a great machine for that price. Get the extended warranty and you can't go wrong. Thoroughly recommended.

Just ordered one, thank you!

Just picked one up. Another present sorted thanks
