Actually it is out of stock for me as well ...
Iv'e got a rice cooker, also doubles as a saucepan
oos
one in falmouth in cornwall
1 left at Telford New Street & 1 at Market Drayton, Shropshire
Ooh aibon I have one of those too
Fantastic
I can make all sorts in it!
2 within 100 miles.

Very nearly expired !
How did you get the in stock list? Very useful.....
not really needed;

Boil white rice for 4-5 mins, drain and keep a little of water.

Return water to saucepan, place rice over the top (in culender) and cover with saucepan lid.

Stream for 10-15 mins.

Lovely non soggy rice, no extra money spend, no extra space needed for a rice cooker.

(P.S learnt from experience, i did used to have one of these!)
Heated, managed to bag one in NI! Possibly the last one!

There is an art to cooking nice fluffy rice, not as easy as that.

I find it best to wash rice and soak for 30 mins, 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water.
Cover and microwave for 5 to 10 mins until all the water has been absorbed, and rice is nice and fluffy.

Leave covered to rest for 5 mins, then fluff up with a fork.
None down in the south east area, whitechapel/beckton or nearby from what the stock-checker came up with...

Love these pointless debates.

Do you think there may be a reason why there's one of these in every Asian household? Perhaps the same reason they're also found in most Oriental eateries?

The simple fact is, they provide consistently cooked rice 100% of the time. When it's cooked it'll keep it warm (safely) for hours afterwards.

Personally, it's the best £10 I've spent. Recommended (even for the talented cooks who provided instruction on cooking in a saucepan)
Whenever these threads come up, I love the way people post how to cook rice like it's really complicated.

Good deal if you can get it, it can cost more for a half-decent saucepan.

I'm off now, because I've got to check on my rice which is roasting in the oven.

They're not pointless! I won't rest until the whole world does everything the same way I do!
Afraid I've had two of these, and both cooked inconsistently. One even burned out the heating filament. Instead, I use an 850w microwave.

1 cup of rice, 1 3/4 cups of water, 13-15mins on full power - perfect rice.
I couldn't find any stock nr the nearest 10 stores in Bedford or Cambridge where I work! shame my gf would love one of these for valentines! haha ;-)
Found this about a week back no stock near me... You can get these ones abiut £20 for decent ones.... Waiting for the other one to comedown to half price...
DAM always out of stock near me!!!
agree with the comments about using a pan. How difficult is it? wash rice, place in pan cover with 1 1/2 times the water. cook. Done.

lovely fluffy rice.

Stream for 10-15 mins? Dunno if my server can handle rice

I expect they grill bread rather than use a toaster, and boil water instead of using a kettle.
Not needed?

Add it to the list,

Kettle.... put water in pan.
Food processor....... get knife out.
Microwave........ put food in oven.
Potato peeler..... use knife.
Car...... walk.
etc etc etc

Boil a big pan of water for a bit of rice...... mmmmm efficient?

If you want one. Hot Hot Hot
Its never been £24.99

Always coming in at £9.99

This is a good deal
I checked the instore system. 0 in London. It's a item from the last catalogue.

Just checked my 20kg bag of Thai rice NO cooking instructions
For all those that say rice is simple to cook.. try telling my hubby that! His rice comes out like rice pudding without the milk. So.. fantastic fathers day prezzy

from the kids of course (_;)
I've had bad experiences with rice cookers, I'll stick to using a pan but good deal none the less.

Have you used a cookworks one?

Not all rice cookers are equal - it'd be silly to think they all worked equally well.
I find them handy...easier to cook and less washing, what's not to like?

Good price, I have this model and works well enough.
Great Thanks

i suspect if you buying rice in 20kg bags that you would know how long to cook it for unless your using it to stuff cuddly toys!
