Each to their own but we have one of these and hate it - don't get me wrong its looks good and works , but it seems to heat in very violent 'surges' rather than evenly, for example I often put a 1/2 filled latte glass of milk in ready for a coffee, usually takes about 1min 15 sec, but you really have to keep an eye on it, hardly bubbles at say 1 min 10 sec but is LITERALLY at exploding point at 1 min 20 secs lol! Makes it very hard to 'set' a time and leave it - you have to stand and watch it.
The other night it I left it a couple of seconds too long and the milk erupted like mount etna into the grill above (which you cant clean).
We have had several microwaves before - none have worked like this one.

Always stand a spoon in a mug or jug containing liquid - stops the boiling "bubble" forming which leads to the "eruption".

Actually that one is interesting because it's slightly bigger and more powerful - 1000 watts as compared to 900, 31L compared to 20 and it has a quartz grill; definitely worth thinking about!

It's an old wives tale (or a new one!) that you can't put metal objects in a microwave.
After all. what is the inside of the microwave made of? Many microwaves are supplied with metal racks.

What causes a problem is thin metal capable of becoming energised, then arcing to the wall. Objects like metal foil, gold edging on plates etc.
