Will this have a noisy pump/ fans compared to an air cooler? I can't decide between this or a bequiet! dark rock to cool my 4790k.
Had many different AIOs back in the day, non of which had a noisy pump. As long as pump gets 100% power. Maybe i was just lucky. Dark rock are solid but again depends on the fan to go with it. I intend to replace fans with akasa apache black. Best fans i have ever had

I'd go with the Dark Rock …I'd go with the Dark Rock 4......http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/be-quiet-dark-rock-4-cpu-cooler-review,1.html

DR4 double the price
Yeah I'm thinking £50 max, almost went for the assassin ii from Amazon but shot up to £70 yesterday.
I have this. For the money it is brilliant. Not noisy, in fact I can barely hear it cooling a 8600k. The pump is silent, and for people with sensitive ears the fans can be upgraded easily.

You twisted my arm - ordered!

Now do I go with the stock paste or use the Arctic silver I have left over from my previous build.

Also do I switch the fans with my fractal 120 case fans.

£55 so getting up there. Or think if it as an extra £20 for pretty much the quietest solution going. He did indicate noise was a concern.

I weighed it up and thought worst case scenario I could always upgrade the fans with the £20 saving so went for the ML.

Always used mx4/kryonought or if you want liquid metal conductonought
Give fans a go first on custom settings
If your cpu isnt oced through the roof and adequate cooling in the case might be alright

How much better than the Dark Rock 3 is the 4? Quick look through that review and it shows they achieve 4.6 on a 4790K, my 3 keeps the same processor at 4.8 and it's been at that for 3 years. Is it just simply a quieter fan? If that's the case, I might just replace the fans, the heatsink itself looks identical.
Apparently much easier installation and quieter fan that has higher rpm
worth noting that with postage it's 37.37 using the cheapest postage option or 40.97 with next day delivery.
It's cheaper than amazon which has them on at 44.92, but the easy returns at amazon and free next day delivery & returns shipping (for those with prime) make the novatech a hard sell for me

Add to the fact that several reviews state that the fans are very noisy, and it means you'll be replacing them for another 20 quid or so (for anything decent)
is this the same?? same codes. Mispriced??

Don't forget the 91p topcashback. Economy delivery is fine for me being in no rush. Novatech are also pretty reputable plus extended manufacturer warranty will be through cooler master.

From what I can aee it's all black. The darkest black you can get. So if you like black, you'll be happy. Not sure how much quieter it is than a 3. I don't own either. But it's silent according to the reviews. And did I mention it's black?

The post (from exactly a month ago) had a few comments on noise :-

hotukdeals.com/dea…154
Not quite the same but i got an Eisbaer lt 240 for use with spare parts in another system, i tested it on my 5820k for a short bit and it seemed to give better temperatures than my NHD15. Of course reviews seem to conflict. Eteknix has those as the best, OC3D says they are a bit behind.

Hard to trust what review is right or wrong with some stuff by the looks of it.
This is a good deal but its been at this price for a while. In all honesty however, having played around with water and air coolers, I have settled on the Noctua NH-D15. Trades blows with the best 240mm+ AIO's at quieter levels and is probably the best air cooler there is.

Its a silly price new (£75 ish), but if you can find one one 2nd hand for <£45-50 its quite the deal.

These are pretty decent for the money. Put one in my new build a couple months ago. Fans were a bit noisy when installed in my case yet fine outside, so swapped them for the ones off my old Corsair and it's more pleasant on the ears. (Corsair pump failed just outside warranty before anyone asks).
is this the same as this one being sold by amazon for 44.95 ? seems very similar but the picture they use is different and they mention masterfan airbalance fans ?
amazon similar
I installed this 3 weeks ago on an I7 920. Stock freq. 2.66GHz.
Running at 3.8GHz. Min 34 degrees, Max 49 degrees.
Will take it up to 4GHz later.

Pump at full, cpu header to control fans.

I didn't use all the paste but I did tighten the pump to the cpu.

Instructions are not that good.

It lights up white on the pump.

The pump is definitely hearing able on top of the noise from the fans
Can this be installed at any pc no matter how old?
As long as you have room for the rad. Even then with modding anything is possible
In regards to different brackets, wether intel or amd it should be backwards compatible within reason
Best to check what your cpu is and check compatibility or ask on here

Good purchase

-Likely minimal difference, but Arctic will probably have the edge over stock paste.
-Compare CM fan specs with Fractal fan specs found here.

Have to give some props to Novatech ordered yesterday on economy delivery and being delivered today. I think that even beats Amazon for turnaround time.

I'll probably try out stock fans first if they sound bad I'll switch them with my case fans to see if it improves.

Mx4 etc. But to be honest it's all just marketing hype

I've had large air coolers and AIO in my time and personally, with a windowed case, I would do AIO everytime. With a 240 rad performance is always great and the clean look to the CPU is much more aesthetically pleasing.

If your case is closed then air is cheaper for the performance but you will need to be smarter with your airflow plan and clean the dust away a lot more regularly.
Good cooler for the price I changed the fans to Corsair mag levs nice and quite 🔥
Novatech a good company, have ordered lots from them with no issues. Worth remembering also that when you order from them they send you a free next day delivery code for your next order which can be used within 60 days. (Applicable to your acccount only) Just ordered this cooler with one. Great price for a decent cooler.

Just go to corsair h75. I did about 2-3 weeks ago and very happy with it, my temperature droped a lot basically from 90+ while was on air cooling, and now is no more than 70 while on Assassins creed origins ultra settings gameplay

Try removing cpu and placing it back in same with ram. Update bios or rollback a version. If possible clean os and update drivers if not remove gpu drivers with ddu and see if that helped. Had a mobo failure recently as well where cpu goes into crazy mode upon shut down and cpu fan spins like crazy. Possibly a mobo failure as well.
