Good company that are one of the top UK components suppliers, should have no issues

Thank you for the link. They don't seem to have too many favourable reviews here.

Excellent company, never had an issue with them and always regard them as one of my first goto shops for parts

i have used scan for years and built about 5 systems over the years and exchanges and stuff ahve never been an issue and most of the staff are very helpful, but i have never ordered online as im local to them so i cant vouch for there online

I paid £38.52 delivered for the 550W version of this PSU a year and half ago (Scan's Ebay store).

The PSU is very quiet (for a budget model) and has thus far worked flawlessly for me.

Free delivery over 50, so might as well add something cheap onto the order

Personally I'd stick to Seasonic for PSUs these days. Not too much more but arguably the most important part of your build...

why click on this deal if youve never heard of scan

More on topic rather than the retailer... I would avoid this PSU and get something better.

Just built myself a PC with components sourced from Scan.
I've been using them for years and have never had a problem.
There are ways of getting free delivery too.

Have to say I don't really like that Tier chart: First of all very hard to find anything, secondly, it is fairly arbitrary and I prefer to know who the actual OEM is.
More work, but I prefer to use PSU Review database over at Realhardtechx.com:
realhardtechx.com/ind…tml

Jonnyguru is generally best for PSU reviews. Gives info on OEM and a decent teardown.
You can also check efficiency results at plugloadsolutions.com/80P…spx

Super Flower are extremely solid these days, giving Seasonic a run for their money

Its a bit worse and isnt even 80+ bronze rated. EVGA G2>CM G650M>EVGA 600W

erm, scan have been around for years, one of the main suppliers of computer components in this country....oO

A lot of online reviewers go for the Corsair CX range, like TTL on OC3D.. or the CM range..... or something

This is only good if you can pick it up. i get it at aroung 56 delivered, if adding something to pass 50 there are other charges added. Better get it on amazon, get better warranty and service, also prime available.

Come on... im not going to sit for an hour typing things :-) not many will, for coulke of pounds compared to amazon. Im actually looking for psu and when saw this got excited, but...

I've been using the gold rated version of this psu in a system for well over a year now. Very happy with the performance and very quiet for the price. I believe this is semi-modular like mine (looking at specs this seems to be the case) If so, the atx cable is poorly sleeved and the coloured wires are clearly visible, if you care about that sort of thing. Not a deal breaker though. Heat added

Title should read Hybrid modular, good deal none the less, looks to be about £10 off retail, heat added.

It's always refered to as modular or semi modular. It will say fully modular if all the cables are.

The product on the scan site literally says hybrid modular.

Ah sorry, I didn't notice that.

It's Hybrid not fully modular and only bronze certificate
