Calamari Rings

Had this a few weeks ago in a local co-op, good value!

These deals are getting a bit samey now don't get me
wrong still a good deal

Guessing there's no ice cream replacement? This is one of my favourite deals in the past but that ice cream is really naff.

Got this last week but didn't know about the NUS discount! Is that on all CO-OP purchases?

Yes it is - great when you are a 54 year old student like me!

I get the student discount on all purchases in my coop🖒🖒

Any alternatives to wedges??

Can I just add that the description needs to say "5% back on Co-op branded products only". So not all of the deal will give the 5% back on the membership card.

Also, the 5% back does not work at all Co-op outlets as there are numerous independent Co-ops across the UK that offer points on purchases instead of 5% back. The 5% back is a Co-op Group promotion only.

All purchases with the usual exclusions. A NUS Extra card must be presented.

E.g. Tobacco/Cigarettes, services such as PayPoint, Lotto/Scratchcards, Baby Formula are not discount-able products.

I don't know if it differs regionally but I get 5% off pretty much everything, not just Co-Op branded stuff. I'm in Cheshire

Got this a few days ago, they ran out of the ice cream so managed to get Ben and Jerry's as a substitute 😏

Seriously mate, I'm a health buff and every now and again stuff my face with greasy delicious carbs.

Are potatoes not vegetables?
Just because you buy it all together doesn’t mean it all has to be eaten together.

Only valid in certain coop stores. Not valid in central England or Tamworth co ops societies. Plus a load of others as well.

Ha ha ha

The deals are just fab now that half the stores have been bought by mcolls and the nearest co-op to me is miles away.. stupid bloody co-op I miss your meal deals 😣.. (I really hate mcolls)

Besides being a heart attack in a shopping bag, this is a poor deal IMO

pizza - normally £1.25 for Ristorante
spiced wedges £0.70 from lidl
onion rings 50p?
garlic bread 50p?
jelly popping candy - who really wants this anyway?

OK I'm not matching brand names here, but at the junk food end of the market, what's the difference?

It's not specifically a regional thing. Co-ops aren't all one company that is 'regionalised' or 'umbrella organised'. They are multiple independent companies that were founded separately and trade as co-ops (some use similar branding) and use a unified supply chain (hence the Co-op branded goods and similar promotions).

The largest retail co-op in the UK is 'Co-op Group' or 'The Co-op' who own and operate stores nationally across the UK so they overlap with many of the smaller Co-ops that operate within their own defined regions.

Cheshire would be primarily dominated by Co-op Group. I'd have a double check of your 5% reward earned from your transactions as you'll find it doesn't include as much as you think. The promotion is specifically designed to only be earned when you purchase Co-op branded goods and services in stores operated by Co-op Group.

None of the smaller Co-ops operate the 5% reward system at this time. They continue to operate Share of the Profits (earn points/get vouchers/e-vouchers based on profit sharing) scheme via membership card usage. Most co-ops allow each others membership cards to earn this reward regardless of where you shop.

Regarding alternative products. If any product that is part of the deal is out of stock the branch should have a list of substitutions they can swap in for you.
