Spotted it because was looking on Ebay and these are being advertised for £49-95 without battery and charger. With Aldi you have peace of mind as it has the 3 year warranty. Also my Sister's husband is going to borrow it to 'ease' the doors in their flat which are rubbing their new carpet, got a quote by the Carpet fitter of £25 per door to shave 5mm off the bottom of each door!

Manage to bag one a few months ago for £17.99. Not used it yet.

One question; how's the compatibility with Worx batteries?

Workzone 18v is compatible, 20v is not. You just have to remove safety pin from the tool to put worx batteries. Worx tools works fine with workzone batteries. Also new Ferrex 18v is compatible.

Yes, you can modify Workzone and some Ferex batteries and chargers to take WORX batteries if you are prepared to do so, but they are still not fully compatible electronically (2 live pins vs 3 pins). I covered this on another post after I had a conversation with Positec (supplier of both).

The 20v/40v ferex are completely different.

Please don't mislead people - or if you do I hope they'll know who to come back to.

Guild, Erbauer (not EXT) and some JCB are fully compatible.

You are wrong. You just need to cut safety pin from Workzone/Ferrex 18v tool. You don't need to modify battery. Worx chargers will not charge Workzone/Ferrex batteries but other way it will work. Metal pins in batteries are only to comunicate with Worx charger.

Unfortunately Guild is same like Workzone/Ferrex and Bauker from Toolstation. In need safety pin to be cut from the tool.

Sorry mate, you're misleading people (or 'doing a Boris' as it's known these days) with partial truths. Anyway, I regard 'cutting a safety pin' as a modification.

I rely on my experience and you on YouTube. I am using this tools on daily basis. Video is about 20v not 18v, totally different system.
