Ok same comment as the Amazon deal

Unless you plan to upgrade the cpu later you are better off going for the 8600k which is better all round and uses a cheaper motherboard chipset.

I did give it heat as it is a deal for what it is.

Im tempted just for the price but again its not something I need. Built a new pc start of this year so currently have an intel i5 6700k with new board, mem, hdd, case and psu.

Just a note that as an Overclockers OEM chip, it'll likely not overclock too well as they'll have handpicked the good ones for their systems and bundles.

This is not true. Their binned chips go into their own systems, NOT back into OEM sales.

No this company is a joke their oem is ones that dont overclock well everything else is either delided and sold at a premium or put into their own systems for bigger margins as its preoverclocked.
personally wouldn't go for an OEM chip when Amazon had this price for a retail untampered CPU with 2 year extra warranty.
They're a little better since being bought out by Caseking but their returns dept are not a patch on Amazon.

I have had very nasty experiences with overclockers.com

They may as well keep an barrister on permanently, from the customers who take them to court.

Please do not buy from this company without doing your research.

Trading standards are familiar with this company.

I had bought many things from them however I had to RMA a VGA card in warranty and they refused without seeing it!. Eventually small claims court and trading standards were involved and they decided that my warranty was in fact miraculously valid!.

Never doing that again.

Do you mean the i5 6600K? Or the i7 6700K? Either way both are really good CPU's and should last you a good few years without needing to upgrade. I get that itch to upgrade my PC components all the time, I can sympathise there!

Your right about this company, they are a total joke. I was looking to spend a good few hundred quid on treating myself to a nice upgrade, contacted their sales team a couple of times and just got ignored.

I ended up buying parts elsewhere and built it myself.

There was a time when overclockers used to be good but now they have become a total joke.

No worries, you can still squeeze a lot out of that chip mate! It's the sweet spot for gaming for a lot of people.

hardly do any pc gaming but felt like a beefy upgrade so stepped it up. Got 32gb ddr4 ram in there, over 8tb of space and an ssd.

Only thing im missing is a good graphics card, still using the onboard one.
