Opened up Paintshop Pro 7 today and got an offer to buy Paintshop X9 Ultimate for £11.99! This is for the full version [not an upgrade] and currently comes with FastFlick. Plus the ultimate version of X9 includes Aftershot 3 which is a lot more expensive on its own. Needless to say I finally decided to buy X9. Looks like this offer isn't available from the website so I assume it only pops up when you open an old version of the program and so are already a user.

Weirdly if you choose the Upgrade option its more expensive [£53.99] but thats fine with me because it means I can give my copy of Paintshop X7 to a friend.

Possible 11.5% from Top Cash Back - see my post below.

Showing as £71.99 here..

Edit: OK, I should've read the text fully instead of skimming :p. Seems a bit odd that you'd link to the website & then say it's not available. oO

I got this last night (£11.99) from PSP X6 Ultimate.

After installing V9 Ultimate, it crashed. The next time, it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to the "Ultimate" edition and poped up ads for other software. Sigh. Not voting until I can work out if its any good.

£35.99 here using X8..

Downloaded a trial of x6 in the hope of being offered the deal, but no luck :-(

Did you uninstall your old version? I literally just had the same problem where x9 crashed after installing but it looks like this was because it was confliciting with x7 which I still had installed. After uninstalling that it worked fine.

From the sounds of it, it looks like you have to be an existing user with X7 or below.

I posted a similar deal a little while ago, I got the upgrade for £19.99 offer and found a way to remove certain bits of the weblink so anyone could use it and get the full version for that price. It may be possible if the OP can do the same (I found that when I clicked on the program's pop up window it briefly displayed the weblink which I screen shot then manually typed and worked out how anyone could get the same link. Sadly they've stopped my link working after several months.

Note that the Ultimate versions does NOT give the program any different boot up screen or such like, it's identical to the non Ultimate version but comes with extra 'free' programs including After Shots (But not After Shots Pro) and other assorted junk. It also initially tries to get you to upgrade to Ultimate but after you use the software it stops offering the upgrade as it seems to realise it IS the Ultimate version.

If you only want After Shots 3 which comes bundled with PSP9x Ultimate then it's free below along with the Pro upgrade for just £15.99

You can also get 11.5% cashback potentially from Top Cashback - use the popup upgrade window and add the item to your basket, then go to Topcashback, search Corel, follow through and you should see you item in the basket. I did this and got my cashback on top of the highly discounted price

I've just tried installing my old PSP X3 on a virtual machine to see if it gives me an upgrade option (again) but it says I've used up my installations for that serial so I can't try it.

When you get the pop up upgrade you have to quickly capture the info, although it goes to a webpage, the window is locked down to hide the usual web address, stop, forward, refresh options so no easy way to see the web info.... but I noticed if flashed up the web url briefly before going to the purchase page..... that's how I retrieved the web url, removed my PC machine reference from the web address and found a page that worked for anyone. A bit sneaky but hey it worked!

i know my old PaintShop X5 was ancient but i used to find the RAW processing to be incredibly slow. Hope its vastly improved.

If you can get it for the posted price then it is a good deal.

But in comparison to something like Powerdirector, it doesn't cut the mustard as a serious editor and has bugs that Corel never bothered to fix, so if paying more, get something better.

My old X2 produced the offer on doing "Check for Updates"

Well Powerdirector is a video editing suite and this is a photo editing program so comparing the two is pointless.

Heat.Use it and an ancient copy of Elements, daily. I can get in, do the wee touch up jobs or whatever before bl**dy PS is even open.... This suite is far better value, even at full price than that other piece of expensive, over rated Adobe bloatware. And that Perfectly Clear 'plugin' (another Canadian company) is great too - I'd even bought it as a standalone before getting it with PSPx8 - it's what some of the the photo labs use to tweak your enprints. *Note - as usual - there is a SERVICE PACK (v.3 at the moment, 199Mb) for the main program after you've installed it- here paintshoppro.com/en/…es/ - may cure some issues.Think you can update from inside PSP Help> Check for updates (in v.8, assume v.9 the same). I download all the installation files, service packs, the e invoice, and cut'n'paste all the various serial numbers into a text file and save them all in a folder, for easy reinstallation in the future.

** On trying to install the service pack, PSPx9 says it is NOT required **

Thanks OP. Will do nicely for some drawing and editing.

Quidco worked for me and tracked at £1.10 cashback.. which is a bonus

Save all download install files, after 2 months you can no longer access them via your account unless you paid for the 2 year download protection.

You could download PSP9x trial and unlock with licence key but any free bonus software is not so easily found,

you can install it whenever you like. The two months is just related to the time your able to downloading the software. Download it right away and keep the executables and the licence email safe and you can install them whenever you like.

Well............

I originally bought a Paintshop Pro 5 licence from JASC back in the stone age - and I still have it installed on a windows 10 PC with the update to version 5.03 as my go to for simple tasks and it still works like a dream. I then purchased an X2 licence many years later and have that installed but occasionally it loses it's registration info and then nags me for 30 days to upgrade... I then have to log into my Corel account to get the licence number and then do some jiggery pokery to get it to work again which is a pain. Whilst GIMP may be a bit clunky for some people it is feature rich with a little work and I like it for some of the stuff I do - and it is free......

So - took the plunge and bought this - perhaps I can retire all the others...... Do I need to uninstall X2 and do a clean install? I will leave PSP5.03 alone - it does not cause any interference.. (Famous last words!) until I can get my head round it all.

Here goes! - Got to be worth it for £12!

Heat added.

Now - does anyone recommend a good video editing software that can deal with post editing and colour balancing of underwater video? I have Corel Videostudio 12 but it does not import mp4 files. May as well upgrade that as well!

taken from their website

you can have up to and including 3 PC's either(E.G., STAND-ALONE COMPUTER, LAPTOP AND MINI/PORTABLE PC) under 1 license. IN A SINGLE ADDRESS, HOWEVER IT CAN ONLY BE USED BY YOU ON ONE (1) SYSTEM AT A TIME.

Cheers, still running PSP X from 2005

I still find PSP7.02 from 2000 faster for very quick basic edits, this PSP9x is pretty good but still not as nippy when you want to make a few simple edits to an image. That said, this is excellent value at £11.99 get it while you can.

Curiously the licence terms says some countries are allowed 3 installs to be used at the same time, the rest of us are not, so that suggest you might be able to install 3 times before licence key is used up. I played it safe and bought 2 licences when I found this offer at £19.99 a couple months back.

Completely agree. I stopped upgrading after 7.02 as it got too bloated and lost its charm.

Absolutely superb, thanks to OP for this and spannerzone for the Pro info (didn't know that also Lightroom and Aperture count as valid products to upgrade from - I have both!)

Can finally ditch Adobe Photography sub in November when my renewal comes up and the Brexit price hike comes into effect.

Also as I'm running Opera and had VPN on, it charged for the slightly cheaper Euro price. Not sure how ok that is, but I wasn't able to put it back to GBP for some reason!
