"The original break and chip resistant glass dinnerware. Trust that it can stand up to the rigors of everyday life and still look great. 3 year replacement warranty against breaking and chipping!
Corelle takes pride in its manufacturing excellence. Vitrelle glass is made and thoroughly quality tested in the USA in Corning, NY. Corelle is manufactured with nearly 70% of recycled glass. Additionally the design pigments used are food safe and FDA approved."

3 layers of Vitrelle Glass
The 3 layers of glass are thermally bonded together by laminating a top and bottom layer of clear skin glass to a core center layer, which creates dinnerware that’s lightweight but strong, thin but nonporous.

Break & Chip Resistant
Vitrelle is a unique, tempered glass that is resistant against breaks & chips. The special glass makes versatile Corelle dinnerware as thin and translucent as fine china, yet dramatically stronger.

Space Saving
Vitrelle is lightweight and thinner than typical ceramic plates—when stacked, Corelle takes up less space in cabinets than conventional ceramic plates and bowls.

Microwave Safe
Vitrelle is microwave safe and even safe for oven use up to 350 degrees.

These quotes/illustrations are from Amazon.com, not sure if the 3 Year Guarantee applies in the UK, but I'd assume so?

I still haven't opened my set, only learned about them thanks to another HUKDer months ago, so I can't take any credit.

Yes, I have reposted the links and jpegs from two previous posts, but it saves me doing it all manually myself. And I have posted many other different Deals
First came across Corelle dinnerware when we hired a campervan in New Zealand 6 years ago. We were so impressed we bought a set for our own caravan in the uk , it's far better and much more durable and longer lasting than melamine sets. Also now changed everything at home to Corelle due to its versatility.
good find op, heat added
Worth noting though, we have a set of these and one of the plates exploded...literally shattered into a million pieces whilst sat on the worktop...hadn't been in the microwave or dishwasher. When I did a quick google it seems to be a known problem.
Corelle splendor square are also reduced from around £80 to £57 on Amazon.

That link might confuse some - the Trianon range is here https://mahahome.com/brands/Luminarc/Luminarc%20Trianon

Worth knowing that there's other options

Edit: From looking around, the now-discontinued brand Arcopal (who seem to have been linked to Luminarc) also produced tempered glass dinnerware.

"Arcopal was introduced simultaneously with two other brands, Luminarc and Arcoroc. Arcopal dinnerware featured glassware that was nearly five times stronger than china, lightweight, was "opal" or tinted glass and resistant to chipping and breaking. Its counterpart, Arcoroc, was tempered and lightweight as well. Luminarc featured transparent glassware.

In 2000, when the Arcopal brand was discontinued, most remaining collections came under the Luminarc brand of products. The company recently created a new material called Zenix for use in manufacturing Luminarc products, further increasing their durability."

As the article I read mentioned Luminarc Zenix, worth posting a link of this too (not sure if it's the same as Trianon?). luminarc.org/new…spx

Wait, your plate exploded? For no reason? It seems like a major design flaw. That, or there's something weird going on with your worktop

Argos are clearing out their stock of Corelle Livingware range & it's not in their new catologue , it's over priced anyway, as it's over half price in Canada & the USA

Think Argos have sold Corelle for a few years (?) as I saw older internet caches in my searches. But you are right - it is still crazily overpriced compared to the US.

If it's a clearance, it may mean there's even better prices ahead :D!

I've had two plates from my set break and oh boy, when they break do they break! I'm with the other poster who said about plates exploding into a million pieces, my two plates did sadly. Points and tiny shards literally everywhere. Saying that, still the best dining set I have ever had, will defo check these out but after plate breakages, have gone back to stoneware till little man is older due to the clean up operation being military and still finding slithers months later
