The amount of times I've been conned by Quidco and Topcashback... No longer bother with them.

Is this any good? Or too many exclusions like British Gas?

You have to have their home insurance right?
Yes
Dam im paying £400 for british gas homecare 3, got off phone earlier threatening to leave, but no joy, had there plans like 20 years now, but our boiler like 30 years old and all the pipe work to go with it, if i leave i doubt i would get cover any where else ?
So at best this is £79 to then pay £60 everytime you claim?
Let's say you make three claims (bad year) that's £259 (if they aren't excluded).
Hmmm.

That's generally the way cover works. You can upgrade to a £0 excess for an additional premium but I prefer £60 excess as it's cheaper.
They wouldn't cover me because my boiler was just over 10 years old.

The £0 excess is only £72 a year so if you have 2 claims then you will save money as 2x£60 excess is £120,and all the cover is pretty comprehensive then 2 claims a year is quite likely,ie heating problem, toilet overflow etc,we had 3 different problems last year,so very happy with initial extra cost

I see they charge £2/month extra if boiler is over 7 years old,so could be a good deal.

And older boilers can be more reliable than the new complex prone to freezing and lockouts condensing ones
Quidco and topcashback - complete and utter theives.

Work on the premise you simply buy and forget

You would be better replacing boiler for a new one like a vaillant or baxi that comes with 10 year parts and labour. 10 years piece of mind no need to take out insurance

But you'll be paying £60 to £100 a year for a service to continue the warranty.
@Gollywood are you interested???
Just don’t even think about corgi. Had a run in with them recently.

Engineer turned up to do annual service and asked to use the loo. Then, 10 minutes into the service he said the refill loop was broken, he showed me that you could pull it repeatedly and nothing happened. So he told corgi and for some reason he told them it was a pre-existing fault and so it wasn’t covered. I pointed out that the policy was over 6 months old, they then said well it is a pre-existing fault and probably caused by limescale and we don’t cover limescale. The engineer offered to fix it for £75 cash.

I contacted a local plumber and he pointed out that I probably had warranty cover. I did indeed, engineer from Worcester Bosch came a couple of days later and amazingly the refill loop worked, straight away, only got the pressure to about 0.8 BAR, but it did work. So the corgi engineer must have flicked the isolation valve and pretended it didn’t work. WB engineer changed it anyway as the pressure wasn’t brilliant and the other type would work better. It did and I took a look at the old one, limescale was barely visible, it had probably only ever had a few litres of water through it.

Oh and after the corgi engineer had left I realised our cistern was being really awkward to flush. Strangely I had opened it only a couple of days previous to the visit, so I knew the basics of how it worked. So I popped out the 2 flush buttons, and someone ???? had altered the height of the rods the buttons pressed to make it flush, I unscrewed them about 2 turns and everything was fine again and has been since. Looks like he had lined himself up with another little cash job.

TL;DR Never Corgi!

You also need service for any warranty including this

Yes I am. Will look into this later. Luckily a buddy of mine recently recommended Swinton Insurance to me so I'll be busy researching

Love Quidco cash back if I ever they pay out!! Wave good bye to your monies...😬🤑
Once more for the few who are unaware :

Please bear in mind this is company has absolutely nothing to do with the old Corgi registration that gas engineers needed in the past ( now called Gas Safe if I remember rightly ).

They are a private company who's business model in part relies on the familiarity people have with the now defunct Corgi registration. They are in essence a call center company who sub out the calls to registered, mostly independent, Gas Safe engineers.
