Corsair 16GB Voyager USB Flash Drive
Flash Voyager drives are fully Plug and Play with most operating systems and are backward compatible with USB 1.1. Their durable rubber casing is easy to grip and water resistant. The Flash Voyager product line is both enclosed in the Corsair proprietary all-rubber Flash Voyager housing. Boasting water-resistant properties, these drives allow users to carry more valuable data and applications without compromise. Several reviews of the Flash Voyager products have demonstrated the ruggedness, durability, and reliability of the Flash Voyager family. The Flash Voyager has been shown laundered, baked, frozen, boiled, dropped, and even run over by a SUV in many third party reviews. After all the punishment it receives, the drive continues to work.

Slow and expensive. The GT version is the fast one.

Real world 29Mbps read 17.4Mbps write

Original Poster

hey guys The drive also has data transfer read rates up to 33MB/s and write rates of 16 MB/s.

Not true

hey guys do you think it might be more helpful if instead of posting drive jargon actually posting difference in times i.e how long to copy/write say a 10 mb file. Just so people who are not techs can understand in layman terms thanks.

I don't think it's that simple AFAIK - there will be differing factors, like the equipment it's being used with and how it is formatted.

I've just recently benchmarked all my USB drives using a utility called h2testw.exe [Google it] so it's using the same set of circumstances all the time on FAT32 format. The result of my GT drive was 29.1 and 17.5Mbps.

I really do wish manufacturers would publish data transfer rates as a matter of course, just as a guide if nothing else...

I have another 5 drives whose results are:

Play 4Gb 10.8____ 4.95

Kingston DataTraveler 4Gb 11.8____ 5.55

Kingston DataTraveler [2nd one] 4Gb 10.6____ 4.88

Sony 8Gb 24.6____ 7.86

Buffalo 8Gb 32.2____ 8.11

Big B for bytes, not little b for bits here Faythur, otherwise very useful info.
