Been using scan for many years. Excellent company. Always deliver on time and customer services always help you whenever you need it (which is very rare).

It's always a good idea to buy a quality psu for your computer. Corsair are one of the best. Seen too many people spend a thousand plus on a pc then buy a £15 psu. I refuse to build a pc with a poop psu. It's really not worth it.
Wouldn't trust this psu new nevermind used. Why would someone return a psu apart from not needing it?

Yeah I'm not sure I would buy a refurb tbh. I didn't notice that until you said.

been using a corsair refurb from scan for the last 4 years, not skipped a beat yet,and i bought one the other day for my lads build, running fine, theres all sorts of reasons people send back, missing bits, wrong colour etc, ordered 2,bought one then got something else cheaper etc etc, the ones ive had look to have never been used, you can usually tell if the screw threads have been used, there just not allowed to sell as new anymore

I've got limited experience with refurb Corsair, but the only one I bought had a horrific coil whine, probably why it got sent back in the first place.

The brand new version of the above is on sale at Scan at the moment though for £41.99

I'm not saying all psu's in this series are guaranteed to go bad I'm just staying that the VS series are most likely just rebranded generic psu's. As for returns I would have assumed that they would state it as open box or return rather than refurb. Refurb, to me, implies that it has been used and refurbished to a certain standard. And I don't get why you'd use a refurbished PSU when that's one of the most important parts of a PC.

They’re not rebranded generic units - I’m not sure why you would come out with that. They’re made by Channel Well Technology who make a lot of Corsairs PSUs. The VS series are cheap and not built to last but I knocked together a few PCs for mining about a year ago for a friend using these and they’ve all been up 24/7 since then running pretty heavy R9 290 cards.

But its the BS650
Would you buy one if they have so many returns. It' saying something.
Cheaply made PSU, don't skimp on the power supply, get something from the Tier 2 or Tier 1 list.
CWT psu's are dire, I bought one as a temporary one whilst my far better superflower was in for RMA. I got 1 month out of it before it randomly would switch my PC off. Despite being a 650w it couldnt power 2 samsung 850 ssd's i57600k and a gtx1070.
refurb of an already dodgy line of PSUs

how hard up do you have to be?
12m warranty, so steal at this price. Heat
