I've just bought one myself as I missed out on the Amazon TX650W deal.

Very stable and good build quality!

Totally agree there!
Having had a Corsair HX520W Fully Modular for 10 years and still going strong, I had no hesitation of buying Corsair again

Don't feel too bad about missing the deal if you need it now. Mine isn't set to arrive until 28th Dec.

Anyone know if the cables are all black or mustard and ketchup?

Original Poster

I believe they're all black.

Before you buy, keep in mind this is not a gaming PSU. I made the mistake of buying this CS corsair PSU and is now collecting dust.

Overheated every single day after 20minutes of gaming = instant shut down.(this summer)

These are rated i believe to work under 30C thats PSU not room temp.

I'm thinking of buying this. Any ideas about Corsair CX750M 750W Semi-Modular ATX 80 PLUS Bronze Power Supply £71.99 found in Maplin. Really appreciate any input.

Every PSU can be used for gaming. It's not the manufacturers fault you got a bad unit or bought one that was too underpowered. 650W is plenty for gaming, multiple ssds and HDDs.

can anyone confirm if the fans on this are off until the PSU is under load?

You should have returned it, your unit is clearly faulty (assuming you weren't trying to get it to supply more than 650w).

The continuous output rated temperature for the CS650M is 40C, according to Corsair themselves (see the "Tech Specs" section): corsair.com/en-…psu

There's no such thing as a "gaming PSU". The PSU only cares about how much power you're asking it for, not what you're doing with that power.

It would seem not. The fan noise never seems to drop to 0 decibels, even at 0% load.

How long are the cables on this?
Have an R5 case and need longer cables for some neat routing.
Would rather not but cable extensions as the cost can really mount up.
It mounts at the bottom by the way.
