My existing wired Logitech gaming headset is falling to pieces, they are held together by ice lolly sticks and duct tape, they still sound alright though.

I have been on the look out for a new headset and have come across this, looks a good price. Has anyone got any experience of them?

`Surround sound immerses you in the action

Get gaming and hear all the action with the Corsair HS70 SE Wireless 7.1 Gaming Headset. Virtual surround sound puts you in the middle of the action, and will help you locate loot chests or incoming enemies without needing to wildly scan the horizon.

The wireless design means you don't have to worry about finding the right port at the back of your PC, and you can sit wherever you want without feeling tethered. And thanks to a 16 hour battery life you can game all day without losing power.

Give out commands with the mic

When you're in the heat of the battle you need to communicate with your teammates. The Corsair HS70 SE comes with a detachable boom microphone that lets you send out commands that are crystal clear. And if you're in a single player campaign and don't want a mic in your way - just detach it.

Need to adjust the sound? Easy access controls on the ear cup mean it's no bother to make changes on-the-fly.

Works with PS4 and PC

Not just made for PC gaming, the HS70 SE also works with the PS4, so you can get the same great sound quality with all your favourite console games too.

So how does this compare to the HyperX Cloud II? what is the sound quality like?
I've had these for awhile now, sound quality is good but you won't have your mind blown. The microphone is also just fine, there's no foam cover for the mic so prepare your friends for gale force winds at times. The headband does get uncomfortable after a few hours but that might just be my big head as it's got adequate leather padding. Battery life is quite good I have to charge every 3 sessions so I'd guesstimate 10 hours? You have to download an ique app if you want fake surround sound and to hear yourself breathe and on Mac that app is a bugger to find. It's not a bad headset all round just not top tier good

The Cloud IIs are still the only headset I'd ever reccomend.
Your better off going for the HyperX Cloud Alpha. Same as the cloud II's but updated with a removable audio cable. If you check your local Currys you might be lucky to find the gold Version in stock for £69.99, red one is £84.99. they've removed the gold off the website last I check so you'd have to go check on the shelf. I picked one up last week at £69.99 after lots of online reviews have them as the best gaming headset sub £100.
Thanks for the feedback, I think I may persevere with my Logitech G35's until they give up the ghost completely.
How would people compare these to Cloud Flights from HyperX?
Comfort (especially ear pinning) and audio quality/responsiveness.
