Got this from the Amazon deal a few weeks back and love it.
dunno if it was my bad luck or not, but I got a K95 refurbished keyboard from scan, had to send it for replacement 3 times as quite a few leds stopped working. Currently awaiting for another replacement directly from corsair this time

That doesn't sound good, I really wanted the K95 for the media and extra keys but couldn't justify the extra £100 over the Strafe
Description and spec say media keys. Is that right? Also, warranty says 12 months but other posts on here state 3 months. Anyone know about that?

You got lucky with corsair replacing it directly. They refused to replace mine as it was a refurb.
Why do they have refurbished keyboards, is there a generic fault?
Googling for Corsair STRAFE faults is interesting
Considering the hammering a few keys get, would anyone want a refurbished one?

Keyboards have more components than just switches.

Why does any company sell refurbished products?

Because customers have found fault within the warrant period.

There could be a know manufacturing fault so they can replace any faulty components, if not then it's probably not worth their time to fully inspect and, for example, how do you know if a key(s) are worn? Even if if you can replace individual keys.

If you're lucky, a customer has invented some non existent problem within the warranty period.

The company may be need to get shot of a lot of keyboards to outprice a competitior or they have excess stock.
I have had two of these keyboards, first one had key chatter so I had it replaced. The second is fine in that regard but the general quality of the keyboard is not great. The key caps themselves wear out very quickly and the silver corsair letters peel break off if you not extra careful when cleaning it.
