Nice
This price is rubbish. Go check out ebay or reddit you can get decent ram miles better than this bog standard memory.

16GB for £85 in today's market is not a bad deal (albeit 1600MHz).
I think I might sell my old RAM as soon as possible at these prices. Got 12gb of DDR3 at the same speed as this that I need to offload.
The bitcoin mining madness drove the price of ram up through the roof.

It was actually the factories that were damage a few years ago that stop mass production making and the shift to DDR4 also cause the prices to go up and stay up, however prices are coming down slightly. Mining had effect on GPUs and CPUs(Celeron).

1600Mhz(1333Mhz is 'bog standard' for DDR3) and low profile, CL9 timings and good brand. £85 is a really good price right now for a non-used set.

No used but ram is ram it's not like it won't work. For instance I got some corsair 2400mhz ddr3 ram 8gb off reddit for like £30. You can find good bargain on there better than these new prices in my opinion.

RAM can develop problems that aren't always sudden failure. Like random BSOD's etc.

Well mine did. Almost scrapped my workstation because it just wouldn't boot. Tried all 4 sticks one at a time - if it booted, the memory was ok, if not, it was dead. Only lost 4GB fortunately. Runs still fine with only 12GB.

Hahahahahahahaha, kinda depends on how far back you're going really?.

After all, 100MB RAM Sticks back in 1995/1996 sort of time, were the best part of £120+ at least?!. :-(

Lol.

Yeah, when I first started using a PC in 1997/8, I can remember being told that it was roughly £1 per MB after earthquakes in the major RAM manufacturing region of the far east.

That would be a whopping £16,000ish, would it not for 16GB of RAM that is common place in most desktops these days?

I dare say laptop RAM would have been even more expensive.
