That is a good price. But unless you need the RAM more than you need performance, you're leaving perf on the table using this in most modern systems...
cheap but Corsair RAM is rubbish for overlocking these days, you get what you get.

Are there any particular brands for RAM that are good for overclocking? Was under the presumption that Corsairs was decent.

Crucial are generally good. The Ballistix line is probably the best value RAM for overclocking at the moment.

The b die stuff but it hard to get hold of, Overclockers have sets of 8 pack b die. The e die as well, think it was the Ballistix Lt that had some bargain sets of that type.
Great find 🔥
I had 2x8GB version of this. I tried a modest overclock to 3200MHz but PC failed to boot.

Then Amazon had a great deal for Crucial Ballistix 3200MHz (2x8GB) for £51. Bought it and overclocked it to 3600MHz no problem. Gutted I didn't buy 32GB because it's £107 at Amazon now !

I tried to look for this on Amazons site but I couldn't find it for £107, do you have a link?

This is for 16GB (2x8GB) not 32GB.

How much performance? If it's only 1-2% it's not going to be noticeable.

I bought a couple kits of Patriot Viper 4000mhz 2x8gb about 6 months ago, theyre samsung b-die and i got them for £80 a set, i think the 3400-3999 mhz kits are all hynix cjr which are also decent for tightening timings for a lower cost.
Custom PC magazine benchmarked a bunch of games and the fastest RAM added less than 10% to frame rates over the slowest. Also said more than 16GB was completely pointless.

I was happy with 16GB until Microsoft released the specs for their upcoming Flight Sim game .

32 GB for new flight sim, soon to be +40GB in the future for some games

I'd take a 10% FPS boost for £50 extra. Also higher end RAM tends to retain value when you come to resell, or even increase in calje. when it become rare or highly desired.
looks like its gone up now
