X299, and X399 based systems have 8-slots for the most part. Just because someone like you may not use it there are plenty of people who might. Or like myself, I build lots of systems from low end office machines to gaming PC's, and workstations, so I am always on the look out for RAM at a good price, and this is a reputable brand, from a reputable seller, at a great price.

As mentioned already, terrible speed, but 64GB for £150... That's nuts.

Insane price but I don't know why you'd ever need 8 sticks.
Considering this RAM is CL13 it might be able to handle higher speeds than you think. Slacken the timings and I guess it could hit say 2666mhz+

Edit: quick Google has a vid of someone clocking to 2933

I've put 1.40v through the 2400Mhz rated version of this, albeit a 16GB kit, and managed 3200MHz C17. Given how good DDR4r RAM IC's are these days, most easily hit 2666MHz at 1.2v, and 2933MHz with a slight voltage tweak, and slackening the timings off a little.
Under what circumstances do you need fast or slow RAM? I just read 3600 is the Ryzen target.

Yeah the trend nowadays seems to be just market ram based on clock speed so you can charge more for 3000+ but the latency is higher so many kits may hit similar speeds.

Seeing CL13 on ddr4 basically says to me something that had a chance of a monster overclock.
Good deal for a 1st or 2nd gen Threadripper system.

Way better than 2400 CL16... If only it was ECC...
