Banned

what does this stuff do?

Google it.

Don't you mean gargle it!

The generic stuff is £1.59 in Bodycare. It's exactly the same and even comes in a similar bottle.

Used to buy this when the gums around my wisdom teeth flared up now and then but continued use discolours teeth so only used as needed.
Now buy a bottle of 9% hydrogen peroxide for less than a pound and dilute in a 2l bottle of water.
Use daily and not had an issue in years and has the added bonus that it keeps your teeth white.

May help someone.

Yeah my dentist says not to use it often as discolours teeth.
I use Hydrogen peroxide as well but the one thats safe for food ,i mix that with bicarbonate of soda on toothbrush now and again or just do what you do and just rinse with it.

what does this stuff do?

It'll eat your teeth unless you brush them thoroughly afterwards.

Good deal......I got stung at Tesco's for this stuff but now by it from Home Bargains for around £3.50

The dentist told us to stop using this mouthwash, and the toothpaste!

my mum's been looking for these cheers

What is the ratio of peroxide to water do you use??

Avoid this stuff, it stains your teeth, rather get Gengigel, it does not stain your teeth and actually works to stop your gums from bleeding. Ridiculous how Corsodyl makes your teeth stained, it should be banned.

8 parts water to 1 part peroxide as directed on bottle. Thats assuming your using 9% peroxide.
I always get the 9% as its about same price as the 3%.

Where would you get the 9% peroxide? Thanks

Should get it in your local chemist. I buy in bulk on ebay, i said earlier the 9% was same price as 3% and about a pound but was mistaken.
You can pick up 6 bottles for around £14 delivered which will make 12l of mouthwash and last for ages.
The brand i buy is care or bells.
You can also add peppermint essential oil, stevia and loads of other stuff but i prefer it just plain.

does your dentist know your hydrogen peroxide `trick`, callum?

what does he/she think about it.

colgate used to make a mouthwash containing a weaker solution - but very expensive.

Your referring to peroxyl. The strength was 1.5% so was actually stronger as 9% with 8 parts water gives a 1.125% solution.

My dentist wanted to pull my wisdom teeth to avoid the continual inflamation but is now happy to leave them alone so guess that speaks for itself.

Stains teeth. Avoid.
