Cosatto Zoomi 123 Car Seat £79.99 @ TKMaxx

Found 7th Jan
Been shopping for car seats all day - the Zoomi 123 seems to have generally good reviews and I was about to pick one up from elsewhere for about £110 before I spotted this on TK Maxx.

The colour scheme is a bit loud/girly but all the Cosatto patterns all seem pretty busy... the one we were going for before these was flamingos that was just as bad! Twin girls and a red car so these are just the job!

I've shopped around thoroughly and couldn't find any other examples of the Zoomi 123 below £103, most patterns coming in at £110 to £140, so if you don't mind the look this is a steal. Free delivery or click & collect.

5 Reasons to buy Zoomi

Every cutie needs a tough transporter. Harness the power of Cosatto’s Zoomi Group 123 car seat. Converting from baby hugger through to booster seat for big kids, Zoomi’s a long-haul cuddle. Go shop the well-adjusted all-rounder…

Grows on the Go – No need to buy separates. From small to tall, Zoomi’s there for the full journey - cuddling away, forward facing, fitting front and rear seats.

Awesomely Adjustable – With booster seat conversion, 2 part reversible seat liner with grow-how for extended cuddling and a 5 position head rest - Zoomi’s a growing pillar of security.

Padded Protector - With tummy pad and chest pads plus comfy padded armrests , Zoomi’s a teddy bear really but don’t tell him we said that. Removable washable covers keep the zoom zingy.

Snug Security - Bringing a five-point safety harness with quick release buckle for home time plus layers of padding around a tough core, Zoomi’s a tough nut at the peak of his powers.

Travelling Companion - And when the immortal question was about to be asked “are we nearly there yet?” there was just like a chuckle of Zoomi thanks instead. Job done.

Zoomi is a Group 1,2,3 car seat suitable from 9kg – 36kg (9 months - 12 years approx.)

Seems a decent price - Cosatto are a good brand for car seats.

Heat from me (though not sure my boys would appreciate the design )
It's a good price for the seat though it doesn't seem to be a particularly well designed one. This seat the head rest sits on top instead of sliding down within the seat at the lower settings. I would be surprised if it gives much head protection for younger kids.

The side impact is mitigated as the child grows rather than gaining more height and shoulder width on the sides when the headrest is raised.

It doesn't recline at all for a younger child too snooze and there is no head support that would prevent their head flopping forward if they did.

Its too low to see out the window for under 3 years and I would expect an older child to revolt long before age 12 over the pattern that is unlikely to be fashionable in 5 years time.

The style of the joie elevate is more practical for head and side protection though still doesn't recline. Many other 123 seats also are similar to the joies headrest receding down between the sides.

It's cheaper too and comes with its own mini side airbag.

I almost went for that Joie but was put off by several user reviews mentioning a somewhat loose fit with the seat belt... had it just been one one I'd have put it down to user error but there were a few which was enough to make me look elsewhere.

@jdRiggs will surely correct me if I am wrong.

Basically a major German car seat testing organisation called ADAC test car seats and give ratings. Websites such as Which? Use their ratings to base an opinion and give reccomendions.

The car seat you've bought has been given a satisfactory rating on safety which isn't something you want for your child obviously. ( There are two ratings above this which are GOOD and EXCELLENT)

This is the overall results from all car seats they have tested (open in chrome will automatically turn to English)

adac.de/infotestrat/tests/kindersicherung/kindersitz-test/default.aspx?ComponentId=29903&SourcePageId=31900

If you scroll down you will see the seat you've bought ...

Just trying to help a fellow parent. Please message me if you need anything else.

Agreed the ADAC are independent and impartial
They focus on performance in a crash.
Of the group 123 seats the Britax evolva and the recaro hero are the two where looks are most deceiving. They look impressive but performance isn't matched.

I'm scared to open your link and read/watch something I'm not going to be happy about my car seat. Plus I don't want to have bad dreams tonight.

I bought the britax car seat because it's made in U.K. Also we have a britax pram which is very good so just assume their car seat is good as well

Don't be scared lol.

Just have to try and do what's best for the little ones. Hopefully they will never need the car seats safety features.
