Costco £50 off 4 Michelin tyres

40
Found 29th Oct 2015
I know Costco do some good tyre prices anyway so this seems like a good offer. This runs from 2-22nd of November. I've heard of better deals such as 20% off when buying four tyres but if anyone is thinking of buying sooner rather than later hopefully this will help.

As an example of price I was quoted £145.18 per tyre for 225/55 R18 Michelin primacy 3. So that's £580.72 less £50 = £530.72. If you also have executive membership you'll get 2% cashback (£11.61).

Unexpire!

Says it doesn’t start until 2nd Nov
Does anyone know if costco uk does price drop refunds? I know they do in the US. Bought 4 Michelins off them 2 weeks ago.

yes they do!

I've been thinking of switching to the cross climates, might try this towards the end of November, need 2 tyres, fronts still half left tho but very tempting.

anyone else noticed Costco are no longer the cheapest for tyres anymore?

Yes they are definitely not that competitive on tyres anymore.
Plus these money off tyre deals are NOT an instant price reduction, you have to apply for the money off by emailing or sending the promotor your store receipt after you have paid full price and in about 28 days they send you a Costco voucher to exchange in store for goods.
I still remember the days they sold the excellent value Kormoran tyres at about half the price of Michelins but were made by a company owned by the Michelin company.

When they did this last year, there was no need to send away to get the £50 back, it was just simply £50 off.

I've gone with the cross climates, spot on in the rain and dry, just waiting to test their winter capability, seem to be wearing very well too.
Costco used to be really competitive in pricing. I guess they still have the edge if they still do the helium air and allow you to fit only 2 at a time. But to be sure the pricing is competitive, run it past Black Circles first? Nowhere used to be cheaper than Costco for Michelins, but now for some reason I can get Michelin Primacy 3 205/50R17 W 89 for £108.36 per corner fitted. That makes it better than the Costco price after £50 taken off.

They've stopped being the cheapest for at least a couple of years or more. Used to have a friend with Costco membership and he got good prices. By the time I became a member a couple of years ago, it was clear that I could get better deals elsewhere.

Yes, they do Michelin PS3s and Michelin Pilot Supersport, for my Golf R (235/35 R19 - on the optional 19" wheels), only the Supersports are available.

£50 for 4 tyres is a bit tight if you're into some big ones, usually they'd give you £100 for 4 x 19"ers, and £50-70 for 4 smaller ones.

If you''re going to Costco, please don't be tempted to save more by buying Bridgestones they now stock - they are truly terrible tyres with woeful wet grip and traction.
Be careful where you get your black circles tyres fitted, some of the nominated garages do not take care of your wheels - a place in Denton, Newcastle gouged a wheel on my old Scirocco quite badly. Costco have decent fitting kit and appraise your wheel condition before they change your tyre.
just change mine couple months back

They must have changed the offer.
I bought a pair of Michelin's in September and had a right pain in the a*se with all the cash back and them wanting proof of purchase. google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=warehouses.costco.co.uk/web…ymw

Got mine from Black Circles! Paid £510 delivered for a full set of Pilot Sport 3's (18").
Tbh, while Costco do great deals across the board, their tyre promo's can often be beat with good ol' haggling with your local supplier.

It's worth the heat nonetheless.

Thing is...two years ago they couldn't be beat. The Euro was trading strongly and Mitchelins were £150 per corner everywhere except CostCo. What I don't get is that over the last two years...possibly the pound getting stronger...other places have been getting better and better prices, but CostCo is still the same. At this rate, within another year they'll be the most expensive.

No Helium, it's the latest weight saving technique.

It's hard to contain Helium for long in anything inflatable - very small molecular size relative for a diatomic gas molecule.

cheers!

on my other half's and previous cars I always used the energy tyres, but they don't do them in the size I have now, supposedly the cross climates last longer than those, so i'll be impressed if they do!

glad to read someone else has tried them and liked them, most people I know just laugh at me for not buying budgets

Admittedly, I haven't put much thought into why this has happened but you could well be right. I often went to Costco as the first choice for new boots but for the last few years, they've been consistently off. Maybe Michelin head office had a hand in this....
Had 4 x Crossclimates fitted today. They didn't have my size in stock, but they ordered them in. Noticed a great difference straight away. Costco were the cheapest. £50 off before vat, so effectively £60 off. I'm all set for winter now
If you find that your exactly the same mitchelin tyre fitted is cheaper at blackcircle tell them they will contact their head office to reduce the price easier then ordering tyres online waiting for them to be delivered then trailing them to a selected tyrefitting centre to be fitted.

Same here, worked out the discount is £60 or so, £310 all inclusive for 4 x Cross-climate (205/60R16).

Just an update on prices. When I went to buy my tyres today they were £125 each (Michelin primacy 3, 225,55, R18) then £50 discount. Everywhere else fitted I have seen around £145 per tyre. I'll find my receipt and upload it.
Went to Costco couple days ago and found set of 4 Bridgestone tyres 225/40/18 for £320 (individual membership)
Thought it was a good price
If anyone is going to Watford Costco to fit tyres, allow at least 4 hours of waiting time. Last week I was in a queue with 18 others in front. Took around 5 hours to get the car back.
