Brave move posting an Apple deal .... I voted hot, but I think a cold storm is coming ...
Not an apple fan but voted hot for the price:)
Do u just need to buy a decent screen for this then. Im looking for a decent all in one pc like the asus a720 but they are over a grand.
I'm thinking of buying one of these to upgrade from my i3 iMac.....can anyone recommend a decent 22" screen?
could you not use the iMac screen with this?
could this be used with a TV with HDMI ports?

Yes. My friend has his hooked up to his tv in the living room.

I don't think you can use iMacs as just monitors, so with this Mac Mini, you would need a tv or monitor.

The default output from this is HDMI so you would just need that lead to connect.

Heads up. I don't think they come with the HDMI leads so you will have to purchase one separately.

Yes, you'll have no problem there as it will be a direct connection unlike with an iMac that has no HDMI.
Note that there is no DVD drive ... (if you need it).
nice deal. For non-Apple folks --- did u consider the new Intel's mini computer (4"x4") called NUC?
In the spirit of Christmas I'm voting hot in spite of it being Apple......
Voted hot as I love Apple....
I prefer oranges
It might be cheaper than usual, but it's still a rip off. No discrete graphics card or DVD drive any more either, so you won't be using this for gaming or playing back your existing collection of films (well, unless you buy a separate drive, therefore ruining the all-in-one aspect of the system).
Expensive Acer revo esque kit. Itd actually be cheaper with a bmw badge on it

Have a look at the CPU benchmark vs an Atom and think again.

nice much cheaper than the mac mini but it's i3 and clocked at 1.8ghz
Are the online prices same as instore?
Why it say 4gb and 8gb memory?

You clearly have no idea what this product is for.
Oh and inb4 the "I could build xx computer with xx times the spec cheaper even though its 50 times the size and consumes 10x the power".
Exactly, there is no PC or linux equivalent with an i5 level CPU, 8gb ram, 500gb hard drive with this sort of low power, build quality, and paid for operating system with aluminium keyboard and magic mouse.

Keeping in mind the size of course.
Hmmm was looking to get the 27" iMac but this is tempting at this price
I can't see why some decent manufacturer cant just get a PC based laptop and make one of these with a windows or linux though, as that's all this is, an apple laptop in a box with no DVD player.

and no screen of course

There's no flies on you. LOL. Well not above the waist.

Keeps them off the barbecue

Older stock photo at 4gb standard.
Description & stated title spec is updated to 8Gb ram, with keyboard & mouse.

Our order confirms 8GB and shipping email also confirms 8GB yesterday, so if it arrives with 4gb they will have to send a 4gig stick as per legal sales spec.
I won't be able to conirm until xmas day though :o)

I saved all emails & webpage just in case.

But if it comes as 4gb isn't it stored as a pair of 2 x 2gb?

Yes. Either way they'll have to sort it out if it does. Not worried about it, being costco.

I'm guessing this will just be the standard £499 mac mini with 4gb ram - It mentions 8gb once (title) and 4gb twice (in picture and spec). If it is 4gb then you are getting one of the accessories and the 2 years warranty for free.

Any reference to 8gb now disappeared
Since it's only 4gb, what RAM do I need to upgrade to 8gb? 2x4gb? Also if anyone can find cheap ram for this it would be a great help, it's hard trying to find the exact type.
Corsair vengeance 16gb kit. It's only a tenner more than the crucial 16gb kit but much better.

perfect, thanks!
Just looked at the equivalent Apple price and it looks like it's more like £615, rather than £695 (since we're talking about the 4GB system now). Maybe the description could be updated to reflect that, as it looks a better deal than it actually is otherwise. Still not a bad deal, of course!
