Found 2nd Jul 2011
Mrs put about 1 tonne of towels in our washing machine so it went bang!

Had a hoover before and it lasted 11 years so i stand by them.

This has got a 5 year unsatisfactory promise - as with all electrical items from costco (discretion of warehouse manager).

Other prices dont even come close...
Appliancesonline - £275
BhsdirecT - £358
Currys - £420

i.e with appropriate proof of purchase
Had one of these, The circuit board died shortly after the warranty ran out, Common problem, Wash performance was good and it was quite when it worked.
daughter and i both had hoovers..both had faults..hoover were a nightmare.
I was later told by another repair guy that the faults we had were KNOWN faults..one of them was the inlet pipe broke and flooded daughters kitchen..the drum was rubbing on it. It was a design fault.
Crap of the worst kind imo

I had a similar Hoover OPH714 and the dial to select the program was very sensitive, and then after 15 months use it started to display an error code at the end of the wash cycle before it started the spin. The user guide did not tell you what the error meant but I found out it indicated a heater fault (which expalined why the wash cycles were quicker than usual, the washing was cold and it didnt spin). The warranty was up and the 5 year parts cover comes with a £120 call out fee, so we used it to cold wash for a while then got a Samsung with ceramic heaters (with 2 years parts & labour warranty) for around the same price we paid for the Hoover (£200ish). It may have been an exception but I wouldn't buy one again.

samsung for 200 quid? im sure.

costco returns are excellent in my experience , no proof ,no problem its on the system.
I took a washer back (hotpoint) they just gave a refund. no question.
This one definitely won't last you 11 years. They don't build them like they used to! My old AEG is still going strong now for 12 years. My family members have been through new Bosch, Hotpoint and Electrolux machines, they only seem to last 2 years. It's like they are programmed to break down after a certain time, usually when just out of warranty!

Agree. Don't forget, Hoover aren't made in the uk any more. Since the UK plant closed, the quality's been getting worse and worse.
"Mrs put about 1 tonne of towels in our washing machine"

I thought it was only men that did that! (well mine does) drives me nuts!
if you look to buy cheap you get cheap, no point buying a washer for £200 and then complaining its crap !

15 years ago you couldn't buy a decent washer for much less than £400 - you can blame Currys and Comet for demanding cheaper and cheaper prices from their suppliers. If they have to sell them for less they will make them to last less time so you buy more of them.

Get off the gravy train and buy a Siemens or Miele

we got the siemens deal was around £300 with 5yr warranty parts and labour offer from siemens.
Brilliant so far xx

Yep, was posted on here about 4 months ago at Best Buy. With discount codes and cashback it worked out about £210 delivered (sorry I was £10 out on price). So I'm sure too.

No proof required as they can see the purchase on your account. Costco have an amazing returns policy and I often hear about people who returns things years out of warranty for a full refund. I've taken back a keg that had about 1/2 pint left and they apologised and immediately gave me a full refund.
