This location looks stunning!!! Thought this was a great price for a break away for a couple, now just £99 in total for a stay in Dumbleton Hall Hotel, a grand Cotswolds manor house surrounded by private parkland.

  • Accommodation in a Double Room, with full English breakfast, for two
  • 3-course set-menu dinner (worth £29 per person)

  • 2878032.jpg

  • This 19th-century manor sits in 19 acres of grounds with a private lake
  • It's on the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to the villages of Dumbleton and Winchcombe
  • Nearby towns include Stratford-upon-Avon, Tewkesbury and Evesham
  • We visited the hotel and loved the peaceful atmosphere and the long sweeping driveway

2878032.jpg
Dumbleton Hall Hotel is a Grade II-listed manor house set in 19 acres of private grounds bordered by woodland. The present building sits on the site of the original 16th-century house, and once hosted the novelist Elizabeth Gaskell and the poet John Betjeman, who is reputed to have written three of his poems here. We visited the property and loved the stunning views of the Vale of Evesham and the surrounding Cotswolds countryside.

2878032.jpg
The ancient market town of Winchcombe, with its quaint shops, pubs and tea rooms, is 10 minutes' drive away. The ruins of 13th-century Hailes Abbey, where you can follow an audio tour or visit the museum, are within a 15-minute drive. You can also visit Tewkesbury -- a 20-minute drive away -- to see the medieval buildings and narrow alleyways that surround the Benedictine abbey.

Cheltenham, Stratford-upon-Avon and Batsford Arboretum, a 56-acre botanical garden with one of the largest collections of trees and shrubs in England, are around 30 minutes' drive away. Gloucester, with its 11th-century cathedral, is 35 minutes' drive from the hotel.

2878032.jpg

Dinner and Sunday lunch are served in The Cedar Tree Restaurant, which has an extensive wine list. Afternoon tea, coffee and bar snacks are available in The Olive Lounge, and drinks are served in The Library Bar and Lounge.

Also available is Afternoon tea & spa access for 2 in Leeds for £29

2878032.jpg
What's Included

  • Afternoon tea for two, including a pot of your preferred tea blend, a selection of finger sandwiches, a sultana scone, clotted cream and jam, accompanied by miniature treats
  • Robe and towel hire and all-day access to the spa facilities
  • A voucher for one is £15
  • Valid daily until 31 May; afternoon tea 12-5pm; facilities 6:30am-10pm Mon-Fri, 7am-10pm Sat-Sun

Don't think the ducks give a quack about that to be honest, seem to gobble up every last bit of it without a care. Thanks for taking time out of your Bacon double cheeseburger to inform me whats good for ducks though.

Yep, and we've been burning witches for 100 years to cure crop failure, all of a sudden we decide that's not working.
Damn science and its so called facts eh?

Look pal, I've given you a link that explains what's going on, why it's wrong etc, but if you'd rather be macho about it then that's up to you.

Honestly I don't care much for ducks, but I find determined ignorance a bit weird - personally I like learning new stuff and I'd consider being knowingly cruel to animals a bit pathetic, but each to his own.

Have a nice day.

I like these breaks but..... A 3 course dinner should surely have 3 courses? Starter, main and then tea or coffee is 2 courses...

I stayed here last year using a travel voucher, with my fiance, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful scenery, lovely areas to walk around. 3 course dinner was lovely, and the wine list was very cheap too. Rooms were nice and quiet with coffee and tea in your room which was replenished every morning. And to top it off , they have a gorgeous lake filled with ducks and swans which you can feed by asking reception for bread. We spent a majority of our time feeding the birds because it was so peaceful. Sad I know

Hope this review helps.

She's gonna be a lucky gallllll
Very good price for Dumbleton Hall- I've been to two weddings here but never stayed as the rooms are usually very expensive! It is gorgeous and I hear (from other wedding guests) that the breakfast is lush.

Samhain my husband also loved feeding the ducks on the lake, he kept stealing bread rolls from the wedding hog roast to feed them haha
Hmm, tried booking this. Dates were available, went through to payment and wouldn't work. Tried another card just on the off chance. Same problem. Phoned wife, got her to book. Exactly same problem. Has anyone managed to get through to actually book?

Thanks for this deal. Bagged the last Friday they had left :-)
That set menu is not worth £29 each. No dessert so not 3 course, and no vegetarian main course option (for those select people )

Just to weigh in on duck feeding-gate, my husband was once told by a park ranger type guy that as long as it's small bits of brown bread it's fine. It's when people are throwing in whole slices of white bread that it's damaging, both to the ducks (as white has worse nutritional content for them) and also for the lake (as it sinks to the bottom and rots). So that's what he does. No I'm not going to 'make him stop', as I'm not his mother.

Possibly not worth £29.99 on it's own, but as a freebie thrown in with the room, and breakfast for two people, it's a cracking deal. Thanks, OP.

Horsey didn't care to ask that question before insinuating the worst. Probably assumed the likes of me and you were going down to Tesco and throwing in a whole Tesco value loaf of white bread lol. I used four slices of seeded granary bread between about 30 ducks and some swans. But as long as he gets his 'education' for the day in , he's happy.

All the best
Awwww I am getting married here in October
They have a few newer rooms also, which have recently been refurbed, they look really nice.
Also they have Black Swans on the lake

It’s not sad that you spent your time with the animals! That’s a great thing.. it’s only sad that you fed them bread which isn’t good for them you should pick up some bird feed if you go again you may have sold them a room though.. thanks

I’ll take some seed up.

I get wound up when a cheese course is offered as an alternative to a dessert, instead of, as it should be, AFTER, then coffee, then port! If someone offered me a cup of tea instead of any of those things, I’d throw it at them.
Just looked at the menu! Extremely POOR! AND ONLY 2course meal NOT 3
Voting cold

You're entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. Read the link. Or many others. Bread doesn't have any nutritional value for ducks. Think throwing "bacon double cheeseburgers" at a flock of fat people.
Carefully worded to make it seem a great deal ! only 2 days in April count its not really a good deal only if you are able to go when they decide .We will not be booking in

Well if some Park ranger type bloke said it’s ok, then who am I to argue! Just something for you to chew on, do you think that everyone giving even ‘small bits’ could possibly leave the overall amount to being a substantial amount over a given time?
Absolutely stunning hotel and location, service and food faultless. Highly recommended make sure you visit near by Tewkesbury. Steeped in history. You won't regret it
I've also been to the place and the staff gave a family with kids some old king prawn sandwiches to feed the ducks and crusty baguettes left over on a wedding. One old guy was even throwing spring rolls at the swans they loved the food.

You're embarrassing yourself now. Someone provided you with evidence that contradicts what you think is ok, and you have so much pride that you're even trying to belittle him and his point. Such a typical stubborn attitude we see these days, when people can't admit they're wrong. Pathetic.
