Tesco have reduced their rib of Beef joint from £18 per kg to £9 per kg. This is a separate deal to the finest bone in rib joint that is £10 per Kg. Absolutely beautiful meat and excellent if you fancy something different for Christmas dinner or New Years lunch. Offer on until 6th january 2015

Saw this offer Instore today and imagine it's available at larger stores that have a butchers meat counter

Sounds good for New Year, cheers.

Thanks, we have this joint for Christmas dinner every year now and we usually cut it in half and freeze one for another meal. You can get different sizes from the fridge behind the counter and they are vacuum packed so they can be bought in advance

well spotted balajake!! Thats my christmas joint out the way for half the price!! 3 rib joint here i come!!!

me/ starts to do his rocky balboa warm up ready!!

Haha. I get really giddy on my way to Tesco to get mine every year. I Always ask for a vaccum packed one from the fridge so that it keeps for ages. It's simply the best beef I've tasted and I'd never ever go back to Turkey. Stunning price and we only have it once a year and for the price you can pay for a turkey I'd rather get this and get 2 dinners out of it that feed 5 people per dinner

pffft, Makro 5 bone rib of beef joint, £5.99kg

Thanks for posting this deal ,usually get from local butchers .Will ask if they can match Tesco price. Definitely the tastiest joint. I prefer this to a fillet.Heat added.

I've brought this joint from waitrose a couple of times and just used this guide..
can't comment on Tesco cut but the bone in joints from waitrose are the best beef I've ever had.

Allow for a lot of bone as these still have the chine bone on,they have not been French trimmed(chine removed and just the back rib bones left in place)

My favourite Beef joint by far. Thanks for the Makro info above though, will nip down next week and get one from there.

Seal the sides in the hottest pan you can (cast iron skillet or similar), season to taste and cook in a hot oven for appropriate time (plenty of info on net), remove, rest and make gravy from the beef nectar that accumulated in the pan. A cut this good does not need messing about with. Enjoy.

Loads of tips online on best cooking methods but It's Very very important though to rest the meat. It's simply meat heaven this cut. The flavours are amazing

Yum yum! Best beef roasting joint for Christmas. Can't settle for cheap meat like turkey... it’s Christmas ffs!

For the price that turkeys are now to me this represents a far superior deal and Christmas meal in general. Turkey is traditional but every year no matter how I cooked it or where I bought it from the kids always moaned it was boring and didn't want to eat it. Switched to rib of beef (at this exceptionally affordable price) and we eat like kings lol

Well checked online and the first butcher at the top of my google search (turner and George butchers ) was £24 per kg

the real butcher where I work, hangs the beef for 3-4weeks and we sell it trimmed and chined for 1296 per kg or French trimmed for 1496 per kilo. we can tell you where it came from locally and where it was slaughterd.

yummy deal

kickthis

This stuff always looks like it's got too much fat in it for me. Do people who say it's the best joint ever, like eating fat?

you need the fat for the flavour. There fat renders down
