This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

In a bid to ensure London's critical workers, particularly those in the NHS, are able to travel round London as easily as possible during this national emergency TFL will suspend all road user charges starting today till further notice.

It also supports the supply chain, the effort to keep supermarkets fully stocked and the city's continued operation.

The Road User Charges Suspended Are :
  • The Congestion Charge.
  • The Low Emission Zone (LEZ)
  • The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ)
  • The van scrappage scheme.
  • The ULEZ car and motorcycle scrappage scheme.

To further support vital hospital staff getting into work during these challenging times, NHS workers will be given a code that waives the 24 hour access fee for Santander Cycles, meaning any journey under 30 minutes is free. In addition to free access, docking stations near hospitals are being prioritised to ensure there is a regular supply of bikes for medical staff to use.

You can also apply for refunds on your season ticket if you are self isolating because of COVID-19 - details here - thanks @Morenenth

Hope it helps someone.

You want to stop giving the NHS workers free Bikes and give them free cab fares to get to work, They are front line soldiers

This need to be for public transport!

Don't you think though with TFL cancelling more of the tube and advocating social distancing, it would send out confusing signals to others who are staying at home then?

That's great to hear. Didn't really see anything on my usual news outlets, so thanks.

Let's hope non-essential travel is cancelled for everyone, and let the key workers get through to do their job.
Thanks, I needed to pop into work to pick up a computer (which hopefully i can do with social distancing)

Absolutely and given that for the UK, London is the epicentre right now, we need to do everything to help fight the spread, so well done to TFL to not think of money in this hour of need.

meh a few issues mind
We're really busy at the moment so if you can't get through straight away, try again later. We're open 8am - 8pm, 7 days a week.

You need to give us your:

Oyster card numberBank sort code and account numberWe can check when you stopped using your season ticket and refund you from this date.

Once you've been refunded, your season ticket and Oyster card will be stopped.

I am glad it could be of some help - least I could do.
1 if only they let you cancel online - would ease strain on their call centre staff who are understandably busy
2 Oyster card will be stopped. -do we have to then buy a new one (convoluted and more £)
3 presumably people get a bank transfer w some money after a while could make it hard for people to pay bills as not all companies and banks are waving charges afaik
I know I could ask tfl, but understandably they are busy, and usually people on here seem to get the right answers faster than any large organisation/company

Not everyone is an NHS worker, my wife works for the NHS she has to pay for her train journey everyday. She should get it free.

On Jeremy Vine showed pic of packed underground train, that might have not been so full if there had been no cancellations
Do we still have to pay for Street parking?

Do we still have to pay for Street parking?

That still hasn't been removed, but I won't be surprised if they implemented some sort of free parking soon for the emergency services.

They started cancelling trains without closing other institutions and that was indeed wrong planning on their part.
Sadly this will probably be used by the knumskulls for a free day out in London! A few snippers on roof tops should get the message out there!

Seriously, I always knew there were idiotic and selfish people in our society, I just hadn't realised how many of them until 4 years ago.
Lets hope TFL will be disinfecting the handle bars, especially for those in the NHS.

Applauding this great offer
Is there anyone left in London? It seems like the whole world has come down to the South West. God help us when the infection rates rise - our hospital on,y has 7 intensive care beds.....

Better to cycle to work, the exercise boosts your immunity - a win-win
Also you can't currently apply for refund and phones and site access for that don't work. Tfl being useless as always

It seems crazy that the government think after a 13hr shift those doctors/nurses and porters will be safe riding around London on a pushbike.

I wasn't sure if you were asking or informing, but just in case, you are correct.

1) Season tickets can only be cancelled on the phone (not sure about one-off tickets); there are very long queues on the phone; sometimes (not always) it mentions the option of a callback, but I tried that and never received one, so had to ring up again.

2) Your Oyster card will be cancelled, so you can't reuse it; you'll receive a refund of your deposit for standard Oyster cards, but obviously not for old student cards etc.

3) Unfortunately they don't give any indication of when to expect the refund by, they just say a long time/many weeks; remember to ask for a reference number if they don't volunteer one.

There are 1.3 millions NHS workers. Imagine 2 cab fares of £20 per day = £40 - That's £52,000,000 per day if they all take up on that offer. Although, I want more for NHS workers, your suggestion is not feasible at all.

thank you, i wanted clarification - i was asking
I managed to find another refund link which seemed to be for a n online refund -it did however give an error message any time I clicked it.
This is all great, but where am I supposed to park in Central London to work at my hospital?! If they removed all parking charges on roads then we would have a much easier time getting to and from work!

It's called democracy!
If you only can apply over the phone for the refund is an authentic joke. They never pick up the phone in normal times, i don't expect better answering time now.
Finally something sensible. Yesterday I wasnt able to go to work(ITU) in London because of limited/no underground services and congestion and ULEZ charges.
waited for 1hr 30 mins for my call to be answered, in the end managed to get £900 back... should be more but they only back dated to the previous usage on your annual travel card, which means any gaps in between COVID19 till now wont be refunded
