Cowon are brilliant, though the User Interface can be a bit eccentric. AMP3 have a decent follow up service, too in my experience. Expensive, but I bet it sounds great.
Amazing deal. Once you have listened to music through a decent DAC, you will never go back ;-)
Sadly, I am stuck with my (also excellent) Fiio X3 but if I had the money I would be snapping this up!
paint it white , add an apple logo and tack on phone service ....
AMP have been good to me in the past as well when they didnt include the carry case sent one in the post no questions with a DAP.

Had the cowan d2 which I rockboxed fine so i am sure you can rockbox this in the future.
Am I going to need a pair of headphones which cost the price as this to get the highly praised sound quality from it? I've a pair of Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 2s

Also, when is payment taken? Dispatch or point of order? Currently out of stock and preorder only.

Wired headphones would be better and the momentums are pretty good in their wired version

While you don't necessarily have to have £500+ headphones to see the benefits of a high end DAP, Bluetooth is definitely a bottleneck in this case since the headphones are performing all the audio work themselves with their inbuilt circuitry. The Momentum line in general are built to play nicely with mobile devices, from my experience with using them with different a few enthusiast-grade players (my own ibasso DX50, an OPPO HA-2, and Fostex HP-P1) they don't scale with high end gear as well as some other portable pair, so I wouldn't really say they would justify a player like this even in wired mode.
Wow, not sure I'd pay this much for a DAC but that's a decent discount. My 100 GBP fiio E17 is serving nicely for now.
Its a Music player not just a dac
Hi Res Audio file support and fantastic sounding output
Extensive file support - DXD, DSD, FLAC, AIFF, APE, WAV, MP3, WMA and OGG
Full metal body with anodized finish
Burr-Brown PCM1792A DAC with world class performance

Over a setup costing a fraction of the price of this player.

Like most products, small gains have exponential cost implications the further up you go.
I'll never buy one, as Mike Oldfiled stated on his Amarok cover, I'm a cloth eared nincompoop.
