Come at me I ordered this earlier
What are the rules on these? My mum keeps telling me they have to have a back now and this type is not legal?
Ordered one, the one I have doesn't offer much side protection but I have curtain airbags anyway so may as well give it a go.

It seems complicated but basically they are still legal but not necessarily that safe so it's up to you.

Should be up on the SoGA for a false description, it'll be neither cosy nor safe. Seats of this type are just about to be banned from sale as I understand it (but if you already have one it's legal to use). A seat of this type is useful for emergencies (having to transport an extra kid half a mile down the road) but nothing more for me. if the value you put on your child's safety is £5, then buy this as your main seat.

They can still make backless for 125cm or higher children that are over 22kg under the new laws.

Oh and "Cozy & Safe" is the name not a product description so no breech of the SOGA

Where is your information coming from that "they are about to be banned"?

Genuine question as I am thinking of getting a booster seat for my 9 ½ year old as she is starting to feel claustrophobic in her old high back seat.

As I posted above, the new laws for group 3 booster only seats are a minimum of 125cm or 22kg.

If your 9 year old is 135cm or over you don't need a booster anyway.

They are not "about to be banned" though.

They will be phased out over time. Big difference.

I know, Jules_HT doesn't have a clue saying they are to be banned.
