How can It be a single malt but then a blended malt in the alcohol type?

Worth a try at that price I suppose. Appreciate some feedback if someone has sampled this stuff.

Tried this at the Hampden whisky festival a few weeks back and thought it was decent. They were flogging it for £35 so this is a great price.
Thank you, I'll give it a go at this price

A blended malt, formerly called a vatted malt, or pure malt, is a blend of different single malt whiskies from different distilleries.
They have an 8yr old at 46% for £29 so doubt that this NAS is normally £35.

RRP is around £22-£25.

Amazon inflate their RRP's a lot.
More info here:
According to managing director David Brown, Yardhead is the company’s most significant release to date, aimed squarely at younger consumers.

“Crabbie’s Yardhead is a single malt that is made for mixing,” said Brown.

“We want to encourage consumers to look at single malt differently, and for bar staff to use their skills to develop new ways of using single malt in long drinks and in cocktails,” he added.

The brand was launched in Edinburgh last month – it is now available across over 400 Sainsbury’s stores in the UK.

It is initially being sold at of £18, reduced from its usual RRP of £22.

Yardhead’s official London launch takes place on 23 July, at the Macbeth pub, 70 Hoxton St, Hackney.

“We have seen the rise in popularity of American whiskey with younger consumers, largely drunk with a mixer over ice,” Brown said.

“Blended malts have tried to tap into that market, but what we are launching is a single malt which we believe offers a premium alternative and a different taste profile.”

The current Crabbie range of whiskies includes: Crabbie 8-year-old Highland single malt, a peated island 12-year-old, Crabbie 25-year-old, 30-year-old and 40-year-old variants, all produced in Speyside.
Is this the same Crabbies that is famous for its alcoholic ginger beer, or is it another company with the same name?

Either way, the single malt market is already crowded.

But if this really is a single malt whisky, then it's a good price

Least they're being honest with it. From earlier comments no grain whisky in there? I mean, it's scoring a few points and interesting. But you'd need to spend £10 more to get an age statement dram. If it makes a good old fashioned, certainly worth a shot.
Not many reviews about to see if it's any good - 4.5/5 on masterofmalt from 5 reviews.

Me too, I had a few I was waiting for - Evan Williams, Laguvullin 16 and Dalmore Cigar Malt. And yet none went on offer.
I bought one last month from Sainsbury's when they have the offer on £16 very nice little tipple worth a try 🥃

It seems to be the same few malts coming around on offer so far this year.

I notice Talisker range is back down again today.
