It's not by the original dev, and apparently it's the exact same game with a darker tone and worse gameplay

There's a demo on Xbox live, personally I found it to be pretty damn bad and I do not say that about games usually since I love playing all kinds of games.
That's just my opinion though and it's a good deal if you like the game.

great price for such a new releasehow does it compare to the original?

Its almost the same gamplay wise - theres a demo out. It's not a terrible game by any means but given how similar it is to the first game, you will be hard pressed to find any real differences aside from the zombies and 4 player coop (previous had 2)

yeah its exactly the same game. maybe even a little worse. id say just get the first one instead

Got this game with the Xbox 360 S on lanuch day, and got rid of it the next day.
Good price. Pants game.

Don't know what the on-line support will be like for this game now - Realtime Worlds (company that made it) went into Administration yesterday!

It wasn't Realtimeworlds that made the game, it was Ruffian Games who were an off shoot - RTW only produced the first game. Online support wouldn't change anyway as once the game is finished it will function online regardless of the state of the developer on XBL as MS host the servers for it although it would mean less chance of DLC.

I didn't find the game anywhere near as good as the first, this really feels like DLC as the map is the same (but a bit more damaged) and there's no real story or missions. The skills aren't as good as in the first game (Explosive skills gives you better weapon drops rather than improving the power of your explosives) and the bugs are not only still present but they're worse, your agent struggles to catch onto ledges too much of the time and the auto targetting system is absymal as it favours distant civilian cars over nearby enemies.

Great price. I've actually really enjoyed the game, but I think they could've spent a bit more time on it. 12 months is nothing these days to make a new game - MS should've given them more time to do it properly. The targeting system is still frustrating.

I've not even really bothered with the campaign (if you can call it that), mainly been playing open games and having three other random people coming in and just creating havoc. When you've got that, it's really fun.

I got it for £27 or something with the Eurogamer discount code from Zavvi last week and haven't regretted it. It was years ago I played the original, and although I recognised bits of the city, I didn't get a feeling of having seen it all before. There was no way I was paying more than £30 for this though, not when you can get Crackdown for about a fiver!

Not a bad price. Other comments in this thread have pretty much covered the pros and cons. I will say however the game does get better as you progress through it. When it goes below the £20 mark it will be a good buy.
