The only card you'll ever need

  • Easy to understand, easy to manage - One low rate for all your Purchases, Balance Transfers and Cash Advances
  • No Fees - no Balance Transfer*, Cash Withdrawal** or Annual Fees
  • No Fees on spending or cash withdrawals abroad

Better than halifax as it charges a lower rate at 12.9% apr! No cash withdrawal fees even in the UK! So good if you want to withdraw cash here!

The Barclays card is better if you only withdraw cash abroad. As you get until the statement date to pay it off! However withdraw cash in the UK and they charge interest straight away at 27.9% apr and charge a cash machine fee.

The halifax is the same as this but charges 18.9% apr.
Withdraw £100cash here or abroad and you'll only pay £1.10 per month. Obviously if you can pay off quicker then you'll pay less.

No fees for purchases and you get till the statement date to pay it off. If you do not then 12.9% apr will be applied.

A warning lower credit scores can get 17.9% or 21.9% apr but halifax and barclays do that also.

Never knew that.

This is a good overall travel credit card. Better than halifax due to the lower rate! Please bear in mind lots of cash withdrawals can bear negative on your credit file.

The only card that would be better would be the barclays because it gives you till the statement date. But as you only on hol for a couple of weeks a year its useless for drawing cash in this country.

I suppose like anything different things for different needs!
“Only on hol for a couple of weeks a year” !!! Couple of months you mean

I gather english is not your first language. I gather you mean if you buy from foreign websites while in the UK? The answer to that is yes it does! The internet allows us to buy goods from other countries easily and it still counts as spending abroad even if not abroad.

I got caught out by this when using a hotel in barbados. I selected pounds and it done a conversion.

However maybe if they had a used dynamcic currency conversion it would have been better paying in bajan dollars anyway. However £500 on my debit card from hell was a 2.99% fee plus a £1.50 load fee so it cost me £16.50! They only billed in bajan dollars

With this card it would have been zero. And you'd have till the statement date to pay it off!

The current master ard rate for today 16th mar is 1 GBP = 1.398767 USD
The bank rate currently as of 16th mar is 1GBP = 1.3987 USD

So it looks like mastercard give you the actual bank rate just checked the euro and its the same. So you get the bank interbank rate my friend
