The price for these 2.0 speakers yo-yo, as Play prices are wont to do, but they sound great (I got them for a tenner from ebay a few months ago for my NC10 netbook).

They come with interchangeable plastic covers (clear, pink and blue) which are only a kitsch addition in my opinion. They are AC-powered and the plug is a little heavy, if weight is a consideration for lugging your netbook/laptop and other accessories around.

Play.com blurb: "Creative's I-Trigue 250 stereo speakers combine great music with powerful bass and a stylish design. Each of the large acoustic enclosures features two active NeoTitanium microdrivers, for an effortless performance that combines brilliant clarity with detailed mid-tones and strong, rich lows. For I-Trigue elegance in any environment included are three sets of interchangeable colored faceplates, and more are available separately. I-Trigue 250s are quick and easy to install, can be used with any MP3 or audio music player and, for ease of use, all main controls including volume, power and blue status LED are front-mounted. A headphone jack for private listening is also included."

I have the similar-looking "big brother" I-trigue L3450 (with subwoofer) for my desktop, and surprisingly they don't sound half bad compared to them.

Changed it, I lazily c&p'ed an older listing of these speakers which is naughty, £39.99 RRP was quoted then, just over a month ago. I think they're well worth the £7, 8 or even £10!

Perhaps the RRP has went down as they're quite "old" speakers (I know the aesthetically similar L3450's I have are about 5/6 years old!).

add a few quid more (£5.80 more to be precise) and can get the X-Mi Mini II for £13.79 @ play.com/Ele…tml

much more 'stylish' and portable, and will probably give better sound quality

£6 more is like comparing oranges with apples, that's nearly twice the price!!

And "will probably" sound better isn't a great recommendation. I have two sets of Creative I-trigues and my ears have compared and liked both. No point me posting speakers which sound rubbish, as it's a waste of money.

I'm wary of the pod-style speakers as I feel they're usually style over substance (I think that one is pretty ugly, though just my opinion). As this is Hotukdeals, have a search to see if you find the I-trigue 250 cheaper. Or something similar.

Reviews from Amazon: tinyurl.com/34v…e59 Currently £15.99 on there.

Still £39.99 on Sendit.com: tinyurl.com/3yu…xky

For anyone interested, it turns out this model came out mid-2006, my desktop I-trigue L3450 (with subwoofer) are a bit older.
