Agreed. Heat from me
Was looking at the used 1 earlier and so close to buying until i realised its only 75w / no hdmi / no wireless sub. There are better 1s available for the price.

i would only reccomend this as a destop speaker . its virtual 7.1 surround and soffgtware that makes it.

Maybe for TV. Could you show me example of better speakers for PC?

I had Logitech x540 5.1. The only problem with 5.1 / 7.1 is that you need to have large room and enough space to set it up properly to get nice surround sound ( The best way probably is to put mount them on the wall).

I bought them for that price as it was part of a Logitech offer but i only use 2x speakers (134W) because of room size and tbh they are more then enough. Virtual '7.1' from a small 75w soundbar is ok but its not gonna blow you away so personally price should be cheaper.

How would this act for a main TV (living room)? I'm a little worried about the upward firing speakers not getting sound to the sofa 3 meters away.
How would this sound compare to a £2-300 Samsung soundbar?

Think about what you would prefer in the living room a soundbar with 75w or 1 with 300w+
Love Creative's products. I have a Creative Inspire 7.1 setup for my PC which sounds fab (also got the chap living downstairs complain to our landlord, that my music was too loud in the evenings.)

However this seems a bit over-priced - again, happy to be corrected here.

How does this compare against the JVC TH-D357B 2.1 Wireless Sound Bar which is currently down from £199 to £89 at Currys PC World

It's not PC soundbar. It's too big to put it on a desk. Guys bare in mind that Creative Katana has also built-in soundcard which is obviously better than average soundcard on motherboard.

What is the point of buying 7.1 speakers and then using just 2? You should have bought just 2.0/2.1 then imo.

I don't have my AVR connected to the PC as that's for the living room for TV and Projector. I bought the Logitech because i managed to get a good offer on 5.1 system even if i only use it as 2.1 and if i later decide to have a better setup i don't have to pay more as i just connect the other speakers. The way i see its like Atmos sound bars there just a gimmick as you would only get actual Atoms with a full AVR setup with speakers around the room. I once had a Yamaha soundbar "7.1" and that had around 120w which i decide to get my money back so if you compare it to this at 75w virtual '7.1' don't expect much. The current price could be justified if it at had wireless sub / 150W+ although those lights
Though it may seem expensive to some, going by the other prices out there for it, this is actually a good price. IMO it's nice to see Creative doing something in the PC space again since dedicated soundcards are no longer a priority for most people and the soundbar format seems to be getting more popular following from their prevalence for TV use.

Personally I'd really like to give this a go, I expect it's actual performance would belie the 75W rating a lot seem to be picking up on as a negative, difference being Creative are probably just somewhat realistic about it's capabilities compared to the wild optimism of many manufacturers. In any event I'd like to have one but would have to be a lot closer to £100 for me to bite, hopefully it may fall more in the coming January sales or else later next year...

Been tracking this soundbar for a while and spotted your excellent deal. Pulled the plug last night- just in time it seems since he price is back up to the more consistent £230.

Well done!
