Hi. Just bought this Awesome card from Amazon for my PC.

It was at £112 last week and the lowest excluding Amazon would be Ebuyer and Scan at about £104.

Also includes 2 year warranty when the manufacturer only gives 1.

Great price for a quality component at one of the best retailers.

Just to add guys, I sold my Elite Pro last week which was also Amazing but I wanted the Champion which is the Gamer's King!

Well, this one is the EXACT same card as the Champion without the I/O Drive.

This is an Awesome deal!

Wow. Great price also, no wonder it's sold out.

Pretty much but this is an OEM card without the 64MB of X-RAM. I believe their description is incorrect.

I have Z5500s and have been very happy with my onboard ALC soundchip with optical output. Will this REALLY be worth it?

No worries mate.

Also, I would like to add that you need to have some decent speakers (minimum Z-5500's at least) to release the full potential of this bad boy. The speakers need to have in built hardware able to decode the different sound options on this card.

seriously good price. HOT HOT!!!!

How does this compare to my 3 year old X Fi?

It will depend on which X Fi exactly.

Once again guys, I/O Drives anyone?

What's the deal with GFX cards with HDMI sockets? It means the GFX card also has a sound chip, is that correct? If that be the case do you think you would be able to disable the onboard GFX sound chip (as well as the motherboard's =/ ) and use this baby?

What does it do? The Amazon description doesn't really say much apart from gaming and some sort of treble boost for your music.

What speakers do you have floss313?

It's the dog's balls of sound cards... you'd have to hear one to understand.

I think in order to enable the sound from the GPU, you would need to connect the SPDIF adapter that comes with to the Mobo, so it should need disabling unless you manually enabled it.

I have 2 Gainward GTX 295's in Sli and that's how it works with those.

I'll say it again. Remember, decent speakers are absolutely necessary.

From what I hear and know, its characteristics are more suited to the Gaming crowd.

When it's for that, then it is the DADDY of Gaming Sound!

Also has DTS Interactive and Dolby Digital Live for free this time, since I had to pay Creative for Activation Codes on my Elite Pro.

It has this other interesting feature which is DTS Neo PC which changes 2 channel sound into surround and I use that a LOT with Anime.

I bought the Z5500's last week & now this.............OP this better make a good difference or you will be looking for your nuts !!!

The Xonar range blew creative back to the stone age with along with their crappy written drivers

Because I sold my beloved Elite Pro last week, I robbed my brother's Xonar D2X and I have to say the software is VERY POOR not to mention that you have to manually select the channes that are relevant to the sound you're listening to.

But they do have good sound though.

I will present myself to the guillotine and you can be my executioner.:{

On the other hand, if it does prove to be true, how about a christmas present?

I am currently upgrading my rig, so an SSD would be nice.8)

You might as well order the Toshlink cable from Amazon also (I think they are called XO and it's £3.99 for the 2M one) to enable DTS Interactive and Dolby Digital Live through SPDIF.

I am using this cable with the Xonar now.

Good deal. Thanks op

I have been struggling between the new Titanium HD or Essence STX, I believe these two guys sound better than this one but they only have stereo analogue output. How do you think about the sound quality of this one in comparison to those two with optical 5.1?

Would this sound noticably better than my old Audigy 4 Pro through z5500s?

I hear the Titanium HD has excellent sound, but I believe that we have to look at how much we are paying for the performance we are looking for.

For £80 this HAS to be the best Sound Card in the World!

My older brother has the Champion which is EXACLY the same as this one (but includes I/O Drive) and he wouldn't change that for anything, I hear.

Just bought a set of X-540's and was looking for a new sound card. Would this go well with them or is it over the top?

You'll probably miss the console and the remote but sound and software will really bring you back.
