Aventus presents itself as a bold, uncompromising fragrance of a proud spirit. Succulent openings are crafted in an accord of blackcurrant, Italian bergamot, apple and pineapple. The heart features earthy notes and florals with rose, jasmine and patchouli. A rich base of oak moss, ambergris and vanilla adds a finishing flair.

Top notes: Apple, blackcurrant, pineapple and bergamot.
Middle notes: Juniper berries, birch, patchouli and jasmine.
Base notes: Vanilla, musk, oak moss and ambergris.

There are far better fragrances for similar money. Quite a lot of Tom Ford and Acqua di Parma fragrances knock Aventus out of the water, and that's before you even start looking at more niche stuff like Cedrat Boise (which has been labelled Aventus-esque, although I don't quite get that vibe from it).

You're on a website that promotes discounted Digestive biscuits. Perhaps you want to turn down the self-righteousness of not belonging to a certain subclass.
Spend nearly four hundred quid to impress the ladies or you could spend four hundred quid to "hire" ladies!
The only real point of this is to impress other people. But then you have to hope they notice or you have to tell them like a total weirdo.
358 Euro (around £305) from nose.fr who are fabulous.. free delivery and some samples in around 3 days.

The only time I've tried the genuine was in Harrods and they had loads on display with testers. Really nice but I bought an alternative much cheaper and wouldn't pay for the original now.

What alternative you talking if no mind ?
Not bad price
Laboratory perfumes. "Amber" smelt it as a tester bottle in york and it was lovely. Its around £60.
I've bought the cheap ones on Amazon and they are ok.... the best value is the "perfumers choice....victor" around £13.

That being said I bought 2 and look forward to posting on every social media platform I can think of.

I’d buy club de nuit intense man from Amazon for about £25. But you could also buy Milton Lloyd Parfumers Choice No 9 for about £7. Aventus has been cloned so many times but there really is no alternative to the real thing.

or walk around with the bottle I never understood how people can spend that much money on a very standard fragrance?!

I'm also on a website that "promotes" £100k Porsche Taycans...

Perhaps "you want"(?) to realign your expectations of what this site features.

It's interesting that you chose to understand my usage of "subclass" as inherently negative. It was contextually ambiguous, granted, but if I had wished for my statement to be a slight on a particular group, surely I would have used the word "underclass"? Just a thought.

Good lord. I never knew a "smell" could cost THAT sort of money! It would seem I live in a very 'isolated' world...

I'll stick to Lidl.
Truely arctic
Hot from me

Copy Cat Perfumes .co.uk - get the Creed replica 100ml for £40 - it's the same.
I really love the smell of this so dont care about the price tag

You can throw semantics around until the cows come home, but although I grant your assertion that your vernacular may have been technically ambiguous, you strike me as the kind of individual that is well aware of the subtext of the views you are espousing.

Well done on pointing out my inherent bias, though. Noted and a worthwhile point.
Any other of the cheapies smell like this?

Never assume, dear boy. Never assume.

Out of interest, if I had said "subset" instead of "subclass", would the assumption have been the same? Used in certain contexts the words are functionally similar.

I grant you points on your pedantry. I have a profound respect for a superior pendant, you see. That being said, you and I are quite aware of the assertion and lazy stereotype you were feeding. The tone of your original response meant, in, of course, my own subjective understanding, whatever word you used, I would have thought you to have been disparaging, hierarchical and demeaning.

It isn't a question of technicality, but rather a more emotional, tonality.

Perhaps I should reconsider my choice of adjectives in future.

Until then, my pendant will continue to swing! Ahem.
