About this deal

Basically a champagne that can't be called a champagne due to the region it is made. 50p per bottle more than last year but given what's gone on in those ensuing 12 months a pretty good result!

Lidl’s Crémant de Loire AOC Brut
Let’s start with Lidl’s Crémant de Loire AOC Brut. Ok, it’s not technically a champagne (it’s a French sparkling wine made in much the same way as champagne) but it’s just as good and this one comes from the famous and much-loved Loire region. It’s priced at £8.49 and we can verify the price is as sinkable as the taste. Stock up on a case for a thrifty New Year’s Eve.

No it's a sparkling wine as Champagne is, but Champagne is made in the Champagne region. This isn't made in that region so it isn't Champagne and it doesn't taste the same either !

Yeah, like all things you can get bad ones, but generally speaking the value of a cremant is soooo good compared to an equivalent priced champagne. I've not tried this, but both Aldi and Lidl wines tend to be amazing for price. Heat from me.

For a start this isn't a deal as it's always this price, and secondly why would you buy this at a high price when for a pound more you could have the real deal from Asda?
Then there's the Tesco excellent Blanquette de Limoux at £9.50 but at £7.12 when the 25% offer is on.

I'm sorry but this is not a deal and it isn't even a good price for what it is either.

Since being introduced to it, I much prefer Cremant to champagne. This is a good price and I didn't even know Lidl sold it so heat from me
