Some of the best at home whitening kits, they give a gradual whitening, but at the end of a course there is a definite improvement.

These are a type of bleach and as such aren't sold on amazon.co.uk however they do work and are quite safe.

Crest are marketed in the UK as oral B, same company.

These are from Amazon.com but postage is relatively quick, I ordered some and they came within 10 days

Buy these on eBay and they are good, just beware they make your teeth really sensitive

What the daily mail don't tell you is that he probably didn't follow the instructions, which say to use them once a day, no more. They also say to stop if you have any discomfort. He probably used them repeatedly to get his teeth whiter faster.
This is also a different product to the one in the story, he was using the 1 hour strips, these are 30 minute one.
They say peroxide made up 15% of a strip so how could one strip that weighs half a gram cause a 'grape sized' sack of peroxide? Looks more like mouth cancer caused by smoking to me.
Regardless, they do work, they don't give people ulcers any more often than ibuprofen gives people stomach ulcers but that doesn't put people off using pain killers

On 31 October 2012, the EU Council Directive 2011/84/EU (amending EU Council Directive 76/768/EEC) came into force in the UK. It sets out who can use what strength of product when carrying out tooth whitening. In the UK, the changes were brought into force by the European Communities (Cosmetic Products) Regulations 2004 to 2013 (‘the Regulations’).

The Regulations say that products containing or releasing up to 6 per cent hydrogen peroxide can be used, as long as:

1. Products of this strength are sold only to dental practitioners.
2. A dentist has first examined the patient to make sure there are no risks or any other concern about their oral condition.
3.The patient is over 18 years old.
4. For each cycle of use, first use is by a dental practitioner or under their direct supervision by a dental hygienist or dental therapist.

Over-the-counter products

Tooth-whitening products and kits bought over the counter on the internet can legally only contain up to 0.1 per cent hydrogen peroxide. This concentration is too low to have any noticeable effect on the colour of the teeth.

Products that contain over 0.1 per cent hydrogen peroxide can legally only be sold to a dentist.

If you add the item to your basket and go through to the checkout it will give you the full price you pay, including duty and fees.
previous commenter 'moneybag' is quite right, in the UK these products cannot be sold as they are too strong, hence why they are being shipped from the US.
This is a fairly old post now so the prices might have changed a bit
