Used to have the major hots for Chloe Annett back during this.

Never heard of it. Is it any good?

Its ok not the best, they are cops who investigate by going 1 day into the past to witness events so they can catch the criminal and maybe stop them.

The time machine if I remember was massive and a lot like HG Wells one where it needed coins(probably wrong)

Sounds rubbish!

Not rubbish just it only lasts 8 episodes so wasnt that detailed and a bit rushed.

Great potential though.

Sounds like a play on Tru Calling, or vice versa maybe.

Haha, used to love this show!! Bargain at £8 too, im sold!

Seeing as Tru Calling came 6 years after, I think "vice versa" is a pretty safe bet :-D

It was a good show, originally on early saturday evenings so it's nothing too serious, just light entertainment that doesn't take itself too seriously. Might be a bit too low brow for some, personally I loved it and have both series already on seperate discs (which were pretty cheap anyway, but this price is still a bargain).

Basic premise is that police offier Chloe "inherits" a time machine, which is very fiddly and made from antiquated parts and co-worker Michael French (formerly of Eastenders) finds out about it. Every week (quite predictably) a crime of some variety happens and Michael will try and persuade Chloe to use the machine. She will say no, can't do that, universe will be split asunder, what if you kill your own grandparents and all that, so he sneaks in and uses it anyway without her knowing. He then gets implicated in the crime because he has gone back and was actually there at the time. Then the time machine breaks and will cost a fortune to fix which they don't have. Then they conveniently find a fortune or a spare part somewhere. Then they figure out how the crime was done.

And that's about it really, pick any episode in the whole thing and that's the the basic plot summary :-D

Ahh! I remember it.
It wasn't until you mentioned David Wicks, then it clicked. 7pm ish, Saturday on BBC1. I know the one.
"doesn't take itself too seriously" - understatement of the year, as I remember it HeHeHe
Good price though, for those who like to reminisce on old beeb stuff.

Not seen it but I can imagine it being a bad version of Early Edition.

whats this like to watch now- has it really dated?

Yes. I used to love it though.

I think it's dated in the same way as BUGS has as far as the plots and technology. Both I love though, BUGS especially.

I loved this show during it first run, and loved watching the DVD's when I got them last year. The concept of the show is great, with some nice unique elements to amuse if your into your time travel. Also, it's a much different take on time travel than the likes of Journeyman/Tru Calling/Quantum Leap/Early Edition.

Sure, seeing as the show is old now there will be production value that don't quite cut it, but the story is top notch, and easily something that could have been expanded on if it got more time.

The only complaint that I got from people I recommended it to is that it ended far to early.

whatever happened to chloe annett? she blew me away as Kochanski in RD VII, and then she did this and ive not seen anything of her since.

Ill always remember the first time i saw her in that red PVC

It's time travel - the past is always going to be dated :-D

fwiw I enjoyed it just as much as I did when I originally watched it 10 years or so ago. I'd agree with the comment above, if you can happily watch stuff like Bugs then chances are you'll enjoy it.
